I get the whole originality factor you bring into the mix, but it still doesn’t cut me a good logical enough excuse to invest in something that at the end of the day just isn’t as classy, smokinly hot or gets you that godly feel that a ferrari manages to deliver. And I just don’t think its a well rounded enough device that would make me want to take a dive as deep as it requires me to. Acer once had a range of laptops that were named after ferrari, had the genuine leather, badges and even the distinct ferrari smell, nor was it as ridiculously priced as the AW’s are.
Point being, AW or any custom fully fledged/high benchmarking builds are often on the bulkier side for one, the extra performance gadgets (SLI, dual standalone processors, low access rate, high spinning platters/SSD’s) thrown in mainly are the contributing factors there and this literally destroys the portability aspect of a laptop for many. And then the unfortunate privilege of seeing few people hook these up to their hdmi screens as well, or bring them in as desktop replacements. Doesn’t sound too wise to do.
Price, did check up on the AW X51 gaming PC for someone back in may, believe it was listed at $1,200 while a similar configured AW laptop was priced around $1,800 to 2,000 starting. Did seem considerably overpriced to me, it did.
