aliens?

does quran or hadith talks about aliens/extra terristerial/other life on other planets?

(other then jinns)

Re: aliens?

no....
no such things in Islam....

Re: aliens?

i read this somewhere long long ago, i dont even know if it had a proper reference, or whether it was really authentic or a made-up story....
perhaps someone can verify it....

so it was like this that when the Prophet (saw) went on miraaj, Jibraeel (as) showed him a world, the Prophet (saw), the whole world was the size of an egg, and inside it lived many small creatures, and their leader was saying to them in a gathering that tonight the best creation of Allah shall visit the skies....

if there is some basis for this, then we r talking about life on other planets even if they r as small as an egg....

Re: aliens?

The Qur'an does not say anything about aliens. Come to think of it, I haven't heard a hadith mentioning them either.

Angels go about flying all over the place though. Does that qualify them as aliens? :)

Re: aliens?

Holy Quran: Surah Al-Shura (verse 30).
And among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and of whatever living creatures He has spread forth in both. And He has the power to gather them together whenever he pleases.
Here the word Da'bbah is used for living creatures. This word is not used for spiritual life or angels in Arabic. And this verse also specifies that whenever Allah desires, meeting of two would take place.

Re: aliens?

The existence of aliens would not be contrary to anything in Islam, nor pose any theological problems in Islam.

Re: aliens?

Impossible for there not to be Aliens...

Re: aliens?

I assume that, as non-believers, aliens are destined for hell-fire in the afterlife. Right?

When the time of judgment comes, will only the Earth be destroyed?

Re: aliens?

If aliens do exists then from Islamic point of view will they go to hell because message of prophet :saw: wasn’t delivered to them?

Re: aliens?

^ How would you know if it was or wasnt? I mean we have Jinns who worship Allah so er why not other creatures? Im sorry but I have to laugh at this whole thread. Its just funny. I dont mean to be rude.

Re: aliens?

So you think tht it’s “possible” for your prophet to have delivered Islam’s message to other solar systems or galaxies? I knew that Camels could go a long way w/out food or water, but that really would be a miracle.

At last we agree on something. I think this is hilarious. Yet another example of how otherwise rational people try to justify something that defies rationality.

Re: aliens?

Stu Shu I never even said whether the aliens existed or not or what islam has to say. Ive never really given it much thought to be honest. And our prophet (SAW) came to us with the message. In space another planet could exist with people exactly like us - I mean there could be another Stu or MQ in some other far off planet so why not somebody to guide them in how I er we Muslims have been guided? Think with an open mind. :stuck_out_tongue:

what I found funny was the part about whether aliens would go to heaven or hell. I mean I for one have enough to worry about as it is without involving aliens.

Re: aliens?

Makes perfect sense!

Re: aliens?

Hence my point about no theological problems, unlike Christianity, where Jesus died for the sins of mankind (but not alienkind).

In Islam, we believe that God sent his message to all peoples. It says nothing about all people having to be on this particular chunk of rock.

I have no doubt that if sentient aliens exist, then at some point in the past they received God’s message. They may still be practicing that message, they may have corrupted it, or they may ignore it. But they’ll be up for Judgement too in due time.

Re: aliens?

I have heard the quaran shariff talks about people/creatures from another world...i dont know the verse or anything as i heard this in many lectures..the miracles of Allah Swt are endless he is capable of what ever he desires..who are we to even question it...

Re: aliens?

Qur’an: 16:36: “And verily We have raised in every nation a messenger, (proclaiming): Serve Allah and shun false gods.”

Qur’an 17:15: “Whosoever goeth right, it is only for (the good of) his own soul that he goeth right, and whosoever erreth, erreth only to its hurt. No laden soul can bear another’s load, We never punish until we have sent a messenger.

if the message genuinly doesn’t reach anyone then they aren’t held to account if Allah wills

Qur’an 4:165: “Messengers of good cheer and of warning, in order that mankind might have no argument against Allah after the messengers. Allah was ever Mighty, Wise.”

… in other words, if the message doesn’t reach you, you might have a valid argument…

Re: aliens?

How does “all peoples” differ from “mankind”? Do you consider aliens people but not human?

I’m quite sure there are sentient humans on this planet who have never even received God’s message, much less beings from other worlds. As far as I know, the SETI folks are passively listening to the universe, not broadcasting the koran.

Re: aliens?

Duh. Humans are homo erectus, aliens would be a different species.

Re: aliens?

Also no problem for Christianity.

These aliens would not be under the sin of Adam and Eve and would therefor not require Christ’s sacrificial death for their sins. If Adam and Eve did not sin in the Garder of Eden, we also would not have required Christ’s sacrificial death.

Anyway, that is the Christians perpective…

Re: aliens?

^^ ok, now blame Adam and Eve for your sins. Where is the personal responsibility?
