He’s Universal Music India’s artist of the month. He’s MTV’s Motoalert Artist. And his tune has been ripped off for an Indian movie! Yes, Ali Zafar’s ‘Rangeen’ has been transformed into ‘Dillagi Mein Jo Beet Jaaye Zindagi’ for the movie Ashiq Banaya Apne. The Indian version has Sonu Nigam and Shaan on vocals, and in our (very biased) opinion, doesn’t even come close to the original version. Goes to show that nothing can beat the real deal. It is a fact that Indian pop industry is feeble and needs strong and sensational musicians. They don’t have an Ali Zafar or an Atif Aslam and this is precisely why such incidents take place. The only support to Indian music is Bollywood and Pakistani pop singers are inspiring Bollywoodians. Ali Zafar told Instep few weeks ago that he will not sing for any Bollywood flick unless it’s a good offer. And since Indians didn’t get the real Ali Zafar, they thought to rip off the tune that has happened so often with our pop stars. But India isn’t the only canvas on which Ali has made his presence felt. The singer was in Norway this month and performed a special show regarding the Independence Day at Akberg, Oslo. More than 8000 people showed up to watch his performance, which was one of the biggest Pakistani turnouts in the history of the country. It’s nice to see that our musicians are making waves on the international music scene, though sadly, it looks like success and rumours come as a package deal.
Re: ali zafar’s rangeen ripped for aashiq banaya aapne!!
This same movie ‘ashiq banaya aapnay’ sound track another ripped track. ‘Mar jawan’ by Fakhir!
And come to think of it, this music director gave good tracks in DUS ( I think) but then copied blatantly in Chocolate and this movie. puts a whole doubt on his good tracks. Another Nadeem shravan in the making I say.
Re: ali zafar's rangeen ripped for aashiq banaya aapne!!
^ Saby the music director of the movie 'Chocolate' is Pritam. He gave music in 'Dhoom' not 'Dus.' The music director of 'Dus' is Vishal-Shekar. The music director of 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne" is Himesh Reshamiya.
By the way do listen to the title track of 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne'...its a wonderful song!
Re: ali zafar's rangeen ripped for aashiq banaya aapne!!
indians already copy hollywood films now all that was left were our pakistani songs to copy....is anyone doing something about this?? their shud be a case!
Re: ali zafar’s rangeen ripped for aashiq banaya aapne!!
Oh my god this a clear rip off! I hope they got Ali Zafars permission Indian version is lame, and annoying… Cant hear the vocals, it all just meanigless bells and wistles.
Re: ali zafar’s rangeen ripped for aashiq banaya aapne!!
Certainly much more original than this Ashiq Bangaya Apsey crapparola. Pakistanis are such shmucks they just love to put down their own stuff as “unoriginal” even when it REMINDS them of some songs. The millions of people who loved Channo think otherwise, these smartasses can go listen to Burmans, Hermans whatever trash they want to.
