All is not loss for us, let’s see who gonna win the battle of best umpiring:)

Mumbai: Simon Taufel of Australia and Aleem Dar of Pakistan will officiate in the 2011 World Cup final at the Wankhede Stadium here on Saturday.

Taufel was the on-field umpire for the India-Pakistan semifinal on Wednesday while Dar officiated at Tuesday’s first semifinal between Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the name of match officials on Thursday. England’s Ian Gould will be the third umpire while Steve Davis of Australia will be the reserve umpire. Jeff Crowe of New Zealand will be the match referee.

Match officials for the final:

Umpires: Simon Taufel and Aleem Dar

TV umpire: Ian Gould

Reserve umpire: Steve Davis

Match referee: Jeff Crowe

Both are very good, though i think instead of Ian Gould, they shud have kept Billy Bowden as TV umpire, he is better than Gould.

If I am not wrong, this is the first time both these umpires will be officiating together.
