I’ve been on a bit of a shoe moratorium - no more space for the shoes. At this point, pictures of shoes may be all I can accomodate - oh how the mighty have fallen :hinna:

As for Starbucks, so long as you can get the barista to spell my name right, as opposed to making me into “Heather” or “Z” or “Terri” (that would be last week alone), we might have something to talk about. Seekh kebabs, chaplie kebabs or shami kebabs?

I know it’s off topic, but I’m doing alot of financing for renewable alternative projects - like 40% returns within 6 months. Sometimes traditional investments get boring.

Basically, I finance a few companies who set up solar and wind turbine power parks in the US, UK, Pakistan, India and Africa - all locked by sovereign guaranteed subsidies. I take 5% financing fee at the beginning and then another 5% sellers fee when we package these up to sell off to big pension and insurance funds both in Europe and China. Minimum investment has to be £25 mil. Investors + bank (whoever puts up financing), makes about 40% when project is sold on.

I think brandy was given to folks for flu/cold etc. You gave a couple of sips to the patient and since the amount wasn’t a lot it wasn’t considered unislamic. Pakistani households had it before the ban.

Yeah it was a traditional remedy.. Some people say wine in moderation is good for you as well but who knows..

Yes. As long as alcohol concentration in the blood stream does not exceed 1000 ppm.+/- 0.1%, it is allowed.

so my friend got this proposal and she googled his name and he was caught DUI (not once, but twice). this is desi guy, mosque going, religious family and the mother didn’t even have the courtesy to inform her parents.
