Alcohol use in Pakistan

Even though alchol is illegal in Pakistan, many people still drink.
One of my cousins actually took me to one of his parties, and the house was overflowing with booze and hash.

Also due to the illegality of alchol, In the northern areas of Pakistan people are forced to drink poorly brewed alchol which results in deaths or blindness very frequently due to the posions left in the alchol

So I think Pakistan should make alchol legal again(For those who didnt know uptill mid 70’s alchol was legal in Pakistan). Just because the Koran forbids alchol, that doesnt mean it should be denied to people who want to drink it.

In some muslim countries like Turkey and Morroco alchol is already legal. We should do it too

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

No u answer me first.. DO u drink? :hoonh:

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

ppl have brains and for that they must decide that they want to drink or not.coz they all know its bad.

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

pyarilclarki, its been proven that one glass of red wine a day is good for your health

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

^jaisi aap ki marji aap mujh se achcha janate hain ki wats good/bad for u:)

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

using the same logic we should do away with the speeding limit too. About 2 weeks ago i got a speeding ticket for driving at 90 mph in a 65 mph speed zone and ended up paying $160 fine. Believe me i know what s good for me, im really good at handling my car at 120 mph but the officer didnt listen to me and handed me a citation. heck we should do away with LAW ! :D

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

agreed u r good at handling ur car at 120 kmph, but not other ppl so police enforces these rules for ordinary avg citizens.everybody cant be a genius like u.

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

Do you also snort cocaine or shoot up heroine, better yet get high on weed…I think we should also legalize dope in that case…

One glass of red wine would probably prevent heart disease as would eating grapes or drinking grape juice, but with wine, you would probably need a liver transplant as well down the road…

I just love these desi quasi connoisseur, pretending to be all sophisticated and enlightened drinking chilled red wine bought from their local supermarket…

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

According to National Council on Alcohol and Drug Dependency, 105,000 of these ORDINARY AVERAGE Americans die every year from alcohol related cases. Do they not know whats right for them? I am sure they are not dumb. Infact they are normal people, people just like ikarhoon. :D

I came to my senses after paying $160 fine... man I could have bought a Minolta Maxxum 5, i had always wanted that camera... and lets see what else i could have bought with that $160... mmmMMmmmm biryaniiii... i love biryaniii.... $6/plate... so 160/6 = 26.66 plates of biryani... thats 27 days worth of food... and the list goes on... :(

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

ok stay away from me :snooty:

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

now u r getting it wats good for u:D

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

I think it should be the persons decision to drink alchol!

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

look noone can force u and noone can sway u.its all ur descision

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

Also Pakistan has some fine local brewed alcohol made by Murree brewery

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

Well its against the religion and i don't see any problem if it is made Illegal in Pakistan. The people drinking cheap and bad alcohol should know its not good for their health and stop drinking it. Thats their choice of drinking it and then suffering from it.

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

My best friend is in Morroco (just for a summer visit to her family), and she said some of her cousins (that are only like 12-15 years old) drink occasionally. There's also certain bars where they allow underage people, but don't serve them drinks (even tho they do tend to get their hands on an alchoholic beverage anyways)

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

Yea exactly it's haram and I'm happy it's illegal in Pakistan. It's only helping the society.

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

Psychos like you should also be made illegal in Pakistan. I am glad that Alcohol is illegal in Pak and i hope it stays that way.

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

^ :)

Re: Alcohol use in Pakistan

Taking into account this thread and the one on ciggarettes I think you are being a bit hypocritical with your views. On one hand you want selling ciggarettes to underage people to be illegal (which I agree with) but on the other hand you want alcohol legalised (which I don't agree with). This doesnt make sense as both substances are harmful to the body and both are drugs therefore are against Islam.
