The word is “Liquor”
Alcohol is always present in most of the homes
Alcohol is a chemical used interchangably for anything liquor like, which IMO is totally wrong.
Alcohol that is ethyle alcohol (ethanol) is used for too many puposes, only one of them is use in beverages.
**Methanol → CH3-OH **
Ethanol → CH3-CH2-OH
(these two are most popular, there are many other chemicals which belong to the family and called alcohol)
Methnol is poisonous, mostly used in chemicals, perfumes etc. Ever heard villagers died in Pakistan after drinking poisonous liquor, That liquor contained methnol
Ethanol:
Used in drinks
Use as preservative
use in medicine
use in chemical industory
host of other products
So in short any drink, food which make the person lose senses, is haraam according to Quran, Liquor is just one part of it.
