Pakistani doesn't necessarily mean Muslim. They could be Christian, Jewish and (gasp!) Atheist or Agnostic.
That said, I'm in university and you'll see it now and then but it's not that common or socially acceptable. I don't see how anyone who is a practicing Muslim could regularly drink alcohol but Sarah Palin believes that dinosaurs were here 6,000 years ago so I guess people can make themselves believe anything.
