Al-Zaraar tank ready for Pakistan army, indeed a great news…
ISLAMABAD: A regiment of Al-Zaraar Tank manufactured in Heavy Industries Taxila will be handed over to Pakistan Army on February 19, a report said. For this a ceremony has been arranged wherein President Pervez Musharraf will be a chief guest. Pakistan has launched manufacturing of the Al-Zaraar Tank formally last year, which was made on the model of a china-made tank T-59 with additional more modern touches – both in terms of its durability and performance. With the manufacturing of Al-Zaraar Tank, Pakistan Army has gained additional warfare technique by means of the tank.
I was speaking to some fella this evening the military attaché to the Pakistani Embassy in Cairo and he was telling me how the Al Khalid was not in production yet, just 2 or 3 rolling off the lines...I thought it was being heavily mass produced by now.

18 Al-Khalid tanks are in service with Pak army. Work is underway to get turkey on board for the developement of some more enhanced features! Saudia has shown interest in al-khalid since its best for warm/hot climates and very good on desert terrain.
