Re: Al Qaeda welcomed in Swat
Some people are not realizing how this menace has come to this point, of course all blame is on ISI and the "rogue" elements. People don't realize the hidden support this menace has been getting. Taliban of Afghanistan refused to handover AlQ to US, US comes raging and bombs Afghanistan. Taliban sneak into Pakistan, create a mini-Taliban (Afghanistan) state in Pakistan and repeat same thing "we will welcome AlQ (and not handover to US)".... what would be the result? Any guesses?
forget alleged hidden support, what about the brainless idiots who were all about these guys as being misunderstood and doign right and oh lets not attack them. or those people who just automatically et sympathetic to anyone who has a beard or mouths off against US.
told everyone then, it would be a bloody mess, but take the punks out. If they are going to hide behind women and children, then limit their movements limit the damn cancer. curtail their influence.
There is still time, and whats needed is swift and decisive action, and if the nation pays a heavy price in military casualties then that is the price for maintainign and securing our society, the longer we sit idle, the bigger the price we will pay. mark my words..again.
Re: Al Qaeda welcomed in Swat
I agree with Mister , we do need a swift and a decivice action and get this cancer under control before it swallows us .. now that they have started spreading their wings, they are only going to influence the young minds into terrorism and that is something that is very hard to control...
I say we need to act ruthless and get rid of them ASAP..

Militants resume armed patrolling
Militants resume armed patrolling

By Essa Khankhel
MINGORA: The situation in Swat has again become tense as the Taliban have resumed armed patrolling besides setting up checkposts and issuing warnings to security personnel to hold back.
The militants also kidnapped four persons, including a servant of veteran politician Afzal Khan Lala from Durushkhela on Tuesday. Besides, five others, including a Tehsil Naib Nazim, were kidnapped from the Shangla district.
The Taliban carried out armed patrolling in different areas of Matta, Khwazakhela, Kabal, Barikot, Kanju and Qamber, situated three kilometres ahead of Mingora on the Peshawar Road. The militants also established checkpoints and bunkers in various parts of the valley.
On the other hand, security forces started checking vehicles at their checkpoints. The developments since the last two days have once again increased tension in the conflict-ravaged valley. The tension has led to apprehensions of return of violence and fresh operation in Swat.
Talking to The News, Muslim Khan said the Taliban had the right to patrol roads after setting up of checkpoints by security forces. He warned of taking a strong action against security forces “if they dared to act against the Taliban”.
The militants had kidnapped 10 people, several of them security personnel the other day, prompting the forces to resume checking vehicles. Four persons, the Taliban claimed to be soldiers, were produced before the media here on Tuesday at an undisclosed location.
Picked up from Khwazakhela, the four were identified as Lieutenants Najam and Junaid, Naik Shahid Rahman and Lance Naik Shakeel. The militants claimed they recovered two hand grenades, two Kalashnikovs and two cameras from the captured persons.
The militants claimed the four persons first identified themselves to be cloth dealers and then media persons. However, changing their previous statements, they admitted to be security personnel. The captives told the media that they were soldiers.
Military sources neither rejected nor confirmed the identity of the four captured persons. As the incidents of kidnapping continued unabated in the valley, the militants picked up four more persons, including a servant of Awami National Party leader Afzal Khan Lala from Durushkhela area of Matta Tehsil, Gul Haidar, Muhammad Jan, servants of Col (retd) Ghaffar Khan, Tehsil Nazim of Matta Abdul Jabbar Khan and Sher. Afzal Khan confirmed the kidnapping of his servant.
In Shangla, five persons, including Tehsil Naib Nazim of Puran Nazir Khan and former union council Nasratkhel Nazim Gul Saeed Shah, were kidnapped from Martung and Puran.
Meanwhile, Malakand Commissioner Syed Muhammad Javed chaired a high-level meeting at Chakdara, Lower Dir, to take stock of the security situation and other problems in Malakand Division. District coordination officers and district police officers of all the seven districts participated in the meeting. The officers were asked to concentrate on infrastructure development, education and better traffic system in their respective districts. Regarding security, it was decided to convene a grand Jirga of the elders from all the districts.
Further, students in the Sarsenai and Totano Bandai areas staged protests against security forces for staying in schools and among the civilian population.

I completely respect the shariah law if it is implemented in its entirity , but knowing the muslim men of today , their entire Islam starts and ends on putting women under lock and key , while the men continue to live their fake lives! i.e continue to lie , bribe, indulge in women and drinking and hence forth
For example : Saudi Arabia !
The same is gonna happen in Pakistan .. you guys will take away the rights of women and will anounce to the world that shariah law is in place !!!
So no thank you , we are better off as we are at the moment... I think alot needs to be done character wise and we all need to look into ourselves and determine our actions and beliefs before we think the taliban style shariah law will save us all ...

And you know it very well that MQM will still be in government no matter who is in power????
And Karachi and Sindh will continue to develop and anti MQM people will continue to cry themselves to sleep.

pakistanis system may have its issues but it makes zero sense to swap out a bad system for a worse system just because ppl want to put the label of islam on it, and that pied piper trick just lets them lead all the rodents.
Re: Al Qaeda welcomed in Swat
why are you guys obsessing over MQM?
The Taliban is taking over Pakistan and you guys are obsessing over MQM.....
Re: Al Qaeda welcomed in Swat

Hahhahaha.....that's quite dumb to be honest.
Where did karachi's development come in to all this????
I have been posting on skyscrapercity forum for years now and know a lot more about Karachi and Sindh development. I know what towers are being built, what their height is, how long will it take etc etc.
So there goes your argument in the bin :D
This is exactly how MQM operates, look these Punjabis are against development in Sindh and MQM is the only way forward.
Re: Al Qaeda welcomed in Swat

Actually, I find much of Islamic Law as interpreted by the Taliban barbaric.
