arab countries are less democratic than pak is and most arab govts provide more support to american policies than pakistan does. and yet al-qaeda is not killing arabs in countries like dubai and qatar like it is in pindi and lhr. reason: al-qaeda knows that arabs will completely turn against al-qaeda if it starts slaughtering innocent arabs. pakistanis on the other hand are different kettle of fish. pakistanis dont care if foreign groups kill fellow citizens which is why al-qaeda has turned pak into jehad central. a large number of pakistanis in fact will actively provide support to killer of fellow citizens and important segments of pak society, such as media and politicians, will readily propogate al-qaeda propaganda while undermining the army which is the only group capable of taking on al-qaeda.
it pains me to say this but i am slowly losing sympathy for pakistani victims of al-qaeda. survival of the fittest is the most powerful law on earth and what we are seeing in pak is simply a manifestation of the law.
