Al Gore: 'I won't run for Presidency in 2004'

SOURCE: YAHOO

Some words from Al Gore:

  • **“I don’t think it’s the right thing for me to do,” **

  • **A rematch with President Bush “would inevitably involve a focus on the past that would in some measure distract from the focus on the future that I think all campaigns have to be about.” **

  • **Gore told CBS’ “60 Minutes” that “there are a lot of people within the Democratic Party who felt exhausted (by the 2000 race) … who felt like, OK, `I don’t want to go through that again.’ And I’m frankly sensitive to that feeling.” **

  • **Gore said he expected his former running mate, Sen. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, will run now that he has taken himself out of the race. Lieberman aide Adam Kovacevich said the senator was consulting with his family and would respond Monday to Gore’s decision. **

What do you guys think? I’m disappointed he won’t be running for Presidency, though he made some good points about the previous Elections 2000.

Praise the Lord! Now, if only the rest of the liberal Democratic know-nothings will follow suit! (No offense intended if you are a liberal Democratic know-nothing!) :)

Liberal democrats are anyday better than Conservative racist Republicans.

Well Said andha_qanoon.

I'm pretty sure Liberals gonna kick Republicans butt in 2004 election.

You guys have interesting politics, excitement and action packed, we have New Labour.

Al Gore won more votes than Bush did in 2000. Everyone knows that. The stupid Electoral College system screwed him.

I hope Bush and his racist Republicans get their asses kicked in 2004.

If they do, I hope (for the sake of drawing us closer to our Muslim and Palestinian brothers and sisters) that our new President is none other than … (drum roll) … Joe Lieberman. :dixsi:

Be careful what you wish for. :nono:

myvoice,

Your intentions are pathetic. Democracts didn't enter into the fire of Middle East as Republicans did.

I still don’t get it…why isn’t Al Gore running?..I think there got to be other reasons…

i think he is acting wise .. he knows he cannot win now .. he will have a better chance in '08 with no bush ...

bush will kick any demo butt this '04 ... some say he faces his dad's fate during reelection .. i dont think so ..

In my humble opinion, both are equally bad for future generations in the great scheme of the world. Fortunately, Conservative racist Republicans are a tiny minority among Conservative Republicans - very similar to what is claimed to be the small number of terrorists out the huge number of Muslims.

Liberalism is like communism - all the happy, happy, joy, joy! talk sounds all warm and fuzzy in theory. But, in practice it is ultimately devastating, esmasculating the hearts and souls of it's victims.

And, I will trust that no inference that I am a racist was intended...
