Ajmeri Kalakand

Hi all forum members,

I had once a sweet called ajmeri kalakand from an indian friend from hyderabad and that sweet tastes so nice that I can’t tell you.

I want to know if this sweet is available in Pakistan anywhere specially Rawalpindi/Islamabad.

Thanks

Zia

Re: Ajmeri Kalakand

What did it have in it? I too have had some sort of sweet from that area, it had lots lof nuts and sugar and this gum like substance in it, but it mayb soemthing completely different from what u r talkinga bout.

The sweet is made of Khoya and paneer. A picture can be found here if you search for "G.Pulla Reddy - Ajmeer Kalakhand" in google and it comes up with a weblink pointing to website [us2guntur] and you will see the picture.

Sorry I am not allowed to insert the links in the post.

Re: Ajmeri Kalakand

I do not know about Lahore or Rawalpindi but in Karachi this Dilpasand makes the best of Kalakand in Pakistan.

If you want I can dispatch it from here.

Re: Ajmeri Kalakand

Thanks Mostar95 for your offer, but i believe it will be the white kalakand available here in rawalpindi not ajmeri kalakand I am talking or may be I am wrong and Dilpasand may make ajmeri kalakand?

Re: Ajmeri Kalakand

Well there are lot of Indian sweets that are prepared and sold in Karachi like Agra's Pheta sweet and Badayoun's peras, ajmeri kalakand is no exception. I will go and check with the local shops.

Re: Ajmeri Kalakand

Well I called Dilpasand, they make a variety of qalaqand - some four types of that. But the guy was not sure they make ajmeri qalaqand or not.
