So
I heard lots of ladies in Pakistan doesn’t say their husband names, they just call them aap idhar aayein or munnay ke papa or something else. Its considered very disrespectful to call husband by his name.
I find it wierd because then I’ll be calling all the time my husband “aap suntay ho or aji suniye” So whats your views about it or your parents used to do that? Actually my parents usually call each other with their nicks so i never heard that thing.“munnay ke papa”
Re: AJI Suniye

Re: AJI Suniye
People, Im having a hard time calling my fiance by his name too. I know its wierd since Im an ABCD but his name makes it sooooooooooo formal...
Re: AJI Suniye
I depends on how seriously your family/ in laws family considers the issue.
I personally feel its best to go with the flow in such situations, if "suniye" is what runs in the susraal, then its better to use that to address hubby...

Did you know about that bholi bhali naik perveen who's husband name was Rehmat Ullah.
She used to finish her namaz like this : "Assalam O Alaikum Munnay Kay Abba" on her right and then left.

There are many romantic substitutes , honey , sweety , honey buns, jani , janum , jaan , janan , jan a mun.
There was a joke husband name was Makhan once wife made Saag with makhan tarka. She She gave saag to her neighbor and her neighbor asked "yeh ooper kaya ter raha hai " Now she was not able to say makhan as it was her husband’s name so she said"yeh bunty ke abba ter rahey hain " ![]()
I am justy curious that is this a religious thing that we shouldn’t call our husband’s name or something cultural ![]()
Ok, that is so totally funny!

Re: AJI Suniye
What about in front of people? I cant call him honey, sweety, shnookums, etc in front of people! So far, Ive called him saying "Sunein". Last weekend my sisters asked him what I call him and he thought about it and said...my name is Sunein.
