I’ve seen the name Aizzah, Izzah, and Iysa and wonder if this is actually the same name but spelt differently?
If not, what are the correct pronunciations of each and what are the meanings?

Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?
i've seen Ayza which is pronounced as its spelt- Ay (rhyming with Buy) and Za (rhyming with Ma and Pa).
searching online says Ayza/Aizah/Aiza means noble in Arabic.
Izzah seems like it would be like Izzat but with an h at the end, so not the same as Ayza.
Iysa I have no idea... it could be Aysa to rhyme with Ayza or it could be pronounced like Eesa?

Great reply, thanks SGC :)
Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?
Just to be a pain, I've also come across the name Ezzah (person who gives honour, respect) which sounds very similar if not the same as the others.
According to an app that I used, Aiza means noble but they also list the name Aizzah seperately stating it to be the same of Hazrat Ali. But I'm going to assume that Aiza/Aizzah is the same name.
Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?
Ezzah sounds and looks terrible :/
Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?
Haha that's what I was thinking as well. Sounds much more softer with the 'a' really, but that's if it is the same name as Aiza obviously
Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?
why whyyy the interest? :D
Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?

Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?
Someone close to me is due to give birth shortly and I want to submit a name for consideration. I already have the names of my future children inshahallah picked out :D

Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?
I would never dare reveal mine to anyone I know in ‘real life’…I’d be upset if they used them so I figure it’s better to not even put the suggestions into their minds in the first place ![]()
I think we have a guppan with a daughter called Izzah. She’s adorable mashallah.
Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?
yep! ^
she's adorable. seeing her and knowing her mom warmed me up to that name. lol.
Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?
You pronounce it like Aai-zah.
Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?
Okay last question.....
How would you spell it?
-Aizzah
- Aizah
-Aiza
-Ayzah
-Ayza
Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?
Ayza. easy and upfront and phonetically spelt. plus its only 4 letters which would be easy for the little kidlet herself to spell it out.
all the Ai's make me think "Ai" as in the same sound as "May". the Ay forces the Ay as in Buy pronounciation.
Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?
I like the four letter variant as well, whether it's spelt with an 'ai' or 'ay'.
Now we just gotta wait and see what gender the baby is :)
Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?
^ whats your boy suggestion?
Re: Aizah, Izzah, Iysa - are they all the same name?
I haven't been asked for a boy suggestion as the parents-to-be already have it picked out.
