Dear guppies can you post some information regarding Aitekaaf. Is there any difference between Aitekaaf for women and Aitekaaf for men besides the condition for staying in the masjid or is that also not necessary? Please do post some relevant points regarding Aitekaaf and women folk…
Gracias
Okey let me be more specific…
1)I want to know as to how long can one sit for/in the Aitekaaf?
from 36 hrs to 1 week … ?
2)Are we not allowed to talk with anyone during that time period?
3)What if that is important? And to what extent the interaction is allowed?
If you want to perform Aitekaaf and receive full rewards for it, come to the masjid BEFORE Maghrib on the 1st of last ten days.. Also you cannot leave the designated area in the masjid unless it's allowed.
Also, you can make niyyah of aitekaaf whenever you enter the masjid.

Can you also outline the aitekaaf of a female too :)?
For Nafil Aitekaaf, can you sit in aitekaaf for certain different period of times in the last 10 days (eg: for an hour on the last 10th day ) and then keep it again later on another day ( say, last day for another hour)?
Is there any condition to what time of the day aitekaaf can be performed?
just a thought...
Is a person allowed to relieve himself of his worldly duties , i.e wife, family and other responsibilities. Should he ask permission before sitting in Aietekaf or at least ensure that his near and dear ones will be taken care off in his absence. What about a man with a wife and small kids, in his absence they may have to endure problems (single women burdened with going out to the market to shop for food, pick / drop kids from school etc etc.). These are realities of life and I am sure Islam must have some provisions and guidlines for these situations - no ? :)
It is not compulsary for everyone. Just those who feel they can do it should do Aitekaf.
It is called farz kifaya. Means only some muslim do it then others are relieved of this obligation. Just like numaz-e-janaza.
