Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women

I only want to say this,

More than often now I have heard: Even Julia Robert's called her 'the most beautiful woman on earth'

I dont get why this is repeaten again and again.

What significance does Julia's opinion hold? -_-

Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women

Julia Roberts herself is considered one of the most beautiful women...that's why.

Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women

Not sure if serious.

See Julia is like white, as in caucasian, the ultimate race. Their words are near gospel.

Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women

She is beautiful. But seriously, is she also one of the most beautiful women on earth?
Who makes these lists?

Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women

Funnily enough, there's no video or in print record of Julia directly saying this (as far as I'm concerned anyway). Its very much a product of Aish's PR machinery.

Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women

I was super serious :(

Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women

Maybe she did say it. That is ok. But why mention it again and again.

As if Julia's statement confirms the fact that Aishwarya is indeed beautiful.

Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women

It was basically to boost her Hollywood campaign. If Julia Roberts the highest paid and the most famous and powerful actress in Hollywood (that time she was) says Aish is beautiful then all you big Hollywood directors, producers, publicists must take notice of this Indian actress. I'm sure Julia probably said that but if you are going to something repeat over and over again at least choose something thats well documented.

Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women

live by the sword, die by the sword.

Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women

Just don't cross swords.( not that there's anything wrong with that)

Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women

if its after midnight, and before 8 am, one may cross swords as long as theres no skin on skin goin on. :P

Re: Aishwarya Rai’s post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women

She has put on a ton of weight. Though what bothered me more than her weight gain (which is to be expected post-pregnancy) is her attitude towards exercise. She claims she has never exercised (and is probably not doing so right now). This was news in the Indian media a couple of months ago, but I’m too lazy to look up all the links. I found one here
Exercise was never a routine for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

I’m sorry but that is just not healthy.

Also with a glamorous film star like her, people will notice and comment if she lets herself go. That is just the nature of the industry she’s in, where there’s a huge value on physical beauty.

She got compliments and rave reviews for her good looks before. Wasn’t that superficial too? Why didn’t anyone complain that the media and fans are praising her beauty instead of her virtues?

The truth is that the film industry (actors, media, fans included) itself is superficial. We’re smitten by beauty and appearances, and *will *sigh in despair when our beautiful idols lose their fairy tale charm.

Though I must add, Ash is doing a great job keeping a dignified silence about the weight gain reports. She seems to be enjoying motherhood; more power to her.
