Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women
Why do we have to get so offended when the new mothers are asked to take care of themselves? I really don't see any need to take this to such an extreme level
Exactly. If only people were simply politely asking new mothers to take care of themselves. Have a look at comments around the web on her weight and you'll see what extreme level people have taken it to, hence I said in the first post how people can be so insensitive. It's like omg how dare she be lazy for once in her life!
PS: I'm no Ash fan if that gets thrown at me next.
Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women
Yeah the glow is there but so does the auntie look. Getting double chin with your first baby is quite shocking actually....she doesn't even breastfeed so no excuse for extra eating. She's not relaxing...she's just letting go of herself. Not doing exercise and overeating doesn't mean "relaxing". It means either you're depressed or lazy bum.
The only problem I have is when people say that its normal and so common for Asian women to look like Aish after birth...to me, this is false and insulting. You wanna defend her fine but please don't lay the blame on entire South Asian race. Unlike her, most South Asian women don't have the luxury to afford top quality healthy diet, personal trainer, home built gym and swimming pool, nutritionist, dietitian, chef and all sorts of servants to pay attention to themselves. Give all these facilities to any any average new mother and I bet she'll look as hip and happening as post baby Beyonce. Its not always the case of Western celebs starving themselves to look good, you'd be surprised that most of the time its solely due to the incredible facilities and the staff and support system they have. I will probably have the best hair and skin in the world if only I had a nutritionist putting the most amazingly healthy food on my table three times a day followed by my trainer dragging me to the gym located in my own back yard...
