How many international airports are there in Frankfurt ? If so, what is its name ?
Coming back from karachi, my mom will have an 18 hour layover in Frankfurt and I want to book a hotel for her. The travel agency will not be able to do it, so I have no other option.
There are two international airports near Frankfurt.
1) Frankfurt/Main:
This is the bigger and more centrally located airport. Most of the international flights (including all PIA flights) operate from this airport.
2) Frankfurt-Hahn:
110 km from the city centre it is still considered as an airport affiliated with Frankfurt. However only Low-fare carriers (like Ryanair) land on this airport.
zman she is most likely going to be at the main airport. I would suggest that she get a cab from the airport to neu-isenberg, and stay at the Dorint Mercure hotel there, there is a mall one block from the hotel, some restaurants and shops, a good commecial and shopping area but fairly laid back. if she does not want to experiment with hotels there is a holiday inn there too.
this way she will get out of the airport area, has a place to walk to, do some shopping etc if she wishes, neu-isenberg is roughly 15 mins from the airport and cost about 15 euros or so for the cab.
Mercure Hotel is around 97 euros/day, serves a kick ass complimentary breakfast in its restaurant.
