airline info

My mother will be coming to Canada shortly.
I am looking for a flight that arrives late Friday evening thru Sunday evening.

She hasn’t travelled on a long international flight before and is not familiar with transit procedures and whatever comes in between. For sheer convenience, PIA might be the best choice, direct flight. And I might actually end up booking her on the Friday Flight arriving around noon or so.

The only problem is that it will be a workday (I live 2 hours from toronto) and I will have to take almost a full day off, which could be a problem (although not a do or die kinda situation - possible by all means, but to be avoided IF possible)

I want to know if there is any airline that flies from khi / isb and arrives toronto Late Friday - Sunday, although it will probably have other complications like stop overs, change of carriers, long waits in between etc.

Do other airlines offer any assistance to elderly passengers during transit?

Any info regarding this would be much appreciated
Thanks

Re: airline info

Almost all airlines have such facilities, you have just request it at the time of booking and they will certainly take care of your Mother dear. :)

As far as scheduling goes, your best bet would be to search airlines individually. However, i would suggest to go the PIA route because its literally a long hop, direct flight and save her the hassle of deboarding and reboarding because any other airline is sure to switch planes for the 2nd leg of the journey towards Toronto.

Best of luck JB! :) i'm sorry i couldn't be of any specific help :(

Re: airline info

JB, PIA is the best option especially for first time travellers...you will also have the piece of mind that she can't miss a connection or get lost or anything like that...plus the 14 hours go by fairly quickly and the service on the flight is really good...

Re: airline info

I think if you call up the airline they'll certainly take care of your mother. My mother has knee arthritis and when she was going to/coming from Pak she was provided with a wheelchair because it was hard for her to walk so much at the airport. Just ask and they'll help you out.

Re: airline info

I came back from pak a month agao from PIA to toronto..i noticed t hat their service was really good for seniors. the airhostesses were courteous and repeatedly asked the seniors if they needed any assistance with their overhead luggage. They made the seniors wait until eveyrone was nearly off the planed then it was their turn (i guess the other pple were in a hurry to get off the plane and had no patience for the seniors).
