Sounds like they feel a bit inadequate.
Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
LOL. Something doesnt sound so right.
Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
At this time all major US airport are almost done with improvements to its runways and taxiways to accommodate the giant. I think JFK and EWR will be the first few airports to have this plane. PA, As far as the seating goes, seating for the main deck is the same as 747 but the upper deck has a different seating configuration its more spacious with four isles.
The US market is different its going more towards regional jets, shorter and faster trips. The A380 is for a different market, its good for Trans-Pacific and Trans-Atlantic flights. Even more beneficial for the middle eastern region, with this large aircraft airlines can provide cheap flight with less operational cost to Europe and Far East.
Let me know if you need to know more about the aircraft and its handeling, I have been working on it since it was known as NLA (new large Aircraft).
Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
Bhaijan, when will the Mini version of this giant come out? Are you working on that too?
I have a question about the upper deck:
When people walk between the Isles on the upper deck or drop something on the floor, do the passengers on the lower deck hear the noise?
Thank you.
Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
Lets the Canadian and Brazilians handle the Mini version of the giant, anyway people on the lower deck will hear the noise for sure, after all they are in economy:)
Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
Some thoughts:
A) This thing was susbsidized to the tune of nearly 3 billion euros. If it does not sell the EU countries who funded it are screwed.
B) In the history of the world, the Air transportation industry has never made a dime. that is, if you combine all the profit and loss statements of all the airlines together, you will find that other than Southwest, most airlines barely make a profit, and/or are subsidized by a government. That makes for really bad customers.
C) I just love the Germans and the French jumping up and down screaming "Mine is bigger." How Freudian.
D) Branson's Brothel.
E) The arabs will, and the Far Eastern Asians and Australians have a need for this. But the breakeven number of planes is a LOT of planes. Fed Ex has options on a bunch, but this plane is way over budget, and way behind schedule.
F) Boeing has the advantage of letting Airbus take the risk. If there is a market for this plane, they can jump in at any time. This to me sounds like a safer position. Believe me, if there is a market for this size plane, Boeing can build it, and plans are already fully developed.
Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
OG they should make a flying trailer park for you
Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
OG, I can some merits in your F and C options. Let me know when you have thoughts on the UK.

Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
I am wiht you in all but Point #2. Why the heck would you look at that in a consolidated state anyway? Compare it to defense companies..subsidies and all and see how they stack up.
Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
Subsidizing is not new, Boeing is also highly subsidized by the US govt, and Airbus already has 139 orders on this aircraft.
If you just look at the top earners and the orders you will realize that its still not a bad match… =Orders

As far Boeing waiting to see the market I think its too late for them, they have been against this idea from the start. I think Boeing can and will do better with mid-size aircrafts.
Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
Boeing always has the option of making a further stretched 747 for very short dollars.
If they put a rock climbing wall and jaccuzzi in one I may fly it. And, orders do not always mean delivered planes. Various airlines have options, which is basically a spot on the assembly line. There are plenty of out provisions in the contracts should the plane be over budget, or behind in production. The options are also transferable, so they can be sold if there are other buys.
The list of companies that have "ordered" are all the most natural long haul participants. The universe is pretty exhausted outside of this list however. If any portion of this list defects to a Boeing option, the project may never break even. Bragging rights may not make good business, and testosterone is not a good decision making tool.
Companies like Southwest have shown that labor, efficiency and standardized airframes make a profitable airline. Doing things right, like an intelligent fuel price hedging program is far more important than a new airframe.
Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
Increase in demand was the reason for creating this jet, not testostrone. Seeing that hundreds of millions of dollars are being budgeted by airports to support the A380 I would say that it was a good call by Airbus.

Oh, I didn’t know that he is a real Amercian. I thought he is a white-washed kala angrez :elmo:
Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
OG...? No, he is a bonafide white American. FYI.
Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
But will this plane be faster then a regular jet? Boeing and Airbus should spend more time on designing a faster aircraft. 18 hour flights, no matter how luxurious the aircraft is are very hard.
Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
^ Yeah, just wait for ScramJet to get a little more mainstream.
Re: Airbus A380: Biggest-ever passenger plane unveiled
Shiit faisal....CM just reached climax when you said scramjet. :)
