Aint no sunshine when she's gone

Weather tends to affect us so much. I wonder when we do start living in mega structures, where it would be possible to control the weather, how our behavior would change. Who would regulate the weather? (within the dome like structure). Would the regulators keep in mind that sunny and pleasent atmosphere may not be ideal all the time. Because some of the greatest emotions, ideas, feelings, works have been inspired by the isolation in the snow, the lonliness in the rain and glominess of the clouds.

And how will the residents of such colonies react to the “scheduled weather”. Another question this brings us up is that wether it would be wise to let the residents know about the weather in advance because because personally, i do like to idea of unpredictablity. I find humbleness in the fact that we have no control over our atmosphere.

With a “calendar of scheduled weather” would we ever be as creative or be able to enjoy the bitter sweetness of gloomy weather.?

Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone.
It’s not warm when she’s away.
Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone
and she’s always gone too long
anytime she goes away.

gamma r u in love? :konfused:

Re: Aint no sunshine when she's gone

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat are you on about?

Re: Aint no sunshine when she’s gone

no, i was just listening to “aint no sunshine” and started thinking about how the track evokes different feelings depending on the company you have and the weather. So i then started thinking about how when we do eventually start living in huge man made colonies. Could be on earth or on different planets how weather which we right now take for granted will become a driving force and how every power would try and regulate it.

Good weather = happy people = higher efficiency = more profit.

Know what i mean?

Re: Aint no sunshine when she's gone

don't worry it aint happening.

Re: Aint no sunshine when she's gone

^ sweetheart, dubai already is making mega structures and japan will make a colony where weather would be controlled within 20 years.

Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone to africa

Re: Aint no sunshine when she's gone

Okay sir good deal. I still don't think of it as a very practical idea. If applied on a large scale, it'll most probably make the planet inhabitable. As much as control freaks we are, there's only very little that's in our hands.

Anyhow, as far as your original inquiry goes, only time can tell. By that time, man probably would have surpassed the idea of 'creativity' and 'enjoying' the different weathers since most of the things would be very controlled to begin with. Hence my take that it's not happening.

Re: Aint no sunshine when she’s gone
