^ nope that was the game plan against Lara. Three different bowlers tried the same thing and finally he was trapped. It was due to the injury in his left wrist. He couldn't hit hard on ON/leg side and was rightly given a ball to hit, which ofcourse was not accurate due to weak shot and ended up taking an edge.
Nothing unusual about that shot if Afridi has hit it. I've seen sixes from him much more unusual than this one. For example, a back foot six over cover is always a strange entity :) .
