What is your real first name and who gave you this name? Do you like it, what does it mean?
When I was about to be born my mother’s friends had convinced my mother that it was going to be a boy and the boy name they had chosen for me was Burraaq, yes the horses name! Apparently it was a very popular boy’s name where my parents lived at the time. Fortunately Allah saved me and I turned out to be a girl. Now the girl name they had in mind was Samra, but my mother thought I’d get teased at school and home getting called camera so my father stepped in and chose a name from The Quran for me.
Now what my real name is…well I’m pretty sure I have given different people different ones so I’d rather keep quiet about it and request fellow guppies not to exchange notes please.
Who introduced you to Gupshup? If you then knew what it would do to you, would still have joined it?
From what I remember a somewhat of a friend who isn’t a friend any more had introduced me to this place. I had signed up as Femme Fatale and then wanted to change my name so I tried re-registering with another nick I liked. That nick was taken. I didn’t think anyone else would use that name so just to make sure it wasn’t me I tried logging in with one of y usual passwords and what do you know! It was me. I must have signed up in sleep someday at least a year before and that’s why I had no memory of it.
As for what GS has done for me, well it’s helped me get rid of some of my biases and made me more tolerant so yes I would have joined.

Mehnaz…she is such a sweetheart, so soft-spoken, so gentle. She deserves a proper gentleman and a tall one at that.
