I saw this movie based on true story last night. I think name was “girl, positive” The theme of the movie was how unaware younger kids are about the consequences of just one time stupidity. You know its out there but then the feeling of invinsibility is always with the teens. They are already in their rebelious stage as to speak, the effect can be devastating. More teens worry about pregnanacy then Being Infested by HIV/AIDS. It is said that about 50 young teens are infected each day in USA, and most dont even know that they have it. It was such a shocker…he girl in the movie said…“One mistake and your life is over..thats very unfair”
I have talked to younger kids(they have confided to me things that they wont talk to their parents of), there is a lot more going on in middle school as well as high school that most of us just act as if we dont know,/or act too extremely.
What are your views and how do you plan to prepare your kids when they reach that age?
I So dread those teenage years. I've been teaching my boyz respect for others almost from birth and once they know what they'd "like" to do with the girls, we'll have lots and lots of talks about that for sure....that its the BEST thing to save it for your wife, to share that very first experience with her on marriage night would be the best gift you could give - the gift of yourself. Also that sex is an expression of LOVE - and NOT something to be taken lightly. But I will also make SURE that all 3 know what a condom is and how to use one ... and maybe even make them available to the boyz without scrutiny. Make SURE they know that having unprotected sex is risking your LIFE. This is SO scary I'm glad that they're so young and wish I could keep them that way lol! They have to have a yearly physical too so I will ask our ped to re-enforce those things, that unprotected sex is risking your life, etc.
You have a good game plan…Im still in shock stage, and mind not working, I would just wanna pack up and leave for Pakistan…even there its not as safe as we think:bummer: I know:(
by young kids i thought you meant children, who somehow got infected by rape, born to HIV infested mothers, blood transfusions....if you're looking at this from a desi/Islamic POV, then instilling into their heads that premarital sex is wrong b/c #1, Allah has said so... after that, name all the consequences (reputation, health, self respect, etc)..also warning them abt drugs and all...
