Re: Aid Given so far

i would'nt believe what the dawn have to say.

Re: Aid Given so far

And why is that?

Re: Aid Given so far

900 Million Dollar (Credit) by World Bank
10 Million Euros by Germany.

Although these are only NEWS fact. How much is reality I doubt on that too.

Re: Aid Given so far

I really hope this aid gets to the people whom it was given for!

Re: Aid Given so far

^Actually you can be certain that this will NOT be the case.

Re: Aid Given so far

^That sucks.

Re: Aid Given so far

Actually it will in many cases. Since Zardari came to power most of the money is going to IGOs and NGOs. If you read Hareem's link it shows that the money doesn't go to the Government at all. Because the IC does not trust Zardari.

Re: Aid Given so far

the question is that huge sum of money reaching the people?

Re: Aid Given so far

Thats great, CM.

I have the same query/worry as K337 does.

Re: Aid Given so far

Good to know.

Re: Aid Given so far

CM is right. When the funds do not go to the government they are actually allocated and dispersed quite well. Sad to say but true.

Re: Aid Given so far

Money does not reach the people. The commodities do. Blankets, tents, foods, NFIs etc.

Re: Aid Given so far

So what about those who have lost everything and they need some capital to start a business again?

By business I mean a raerhi, a shop.... livestock etc .... One cattle costs like more than one laakh in Pakistan.... people have lost hundreds of farm animals... no employment, no business opportunities for these people? :(

I understand the priority right now is rescue and aid... food and shelter... but I'm just thinking what the future holds for these people... the govt will need to come up with a scheme of some sort...

Re: Aid Given so far

Err...the government.

Re: Aid Given so far

fer tey hogaya kum :hinna:

Re: Aid Given so far

The government works like the mafia. Zardari as the don, gilani as the underboss etc. Zardari will get the most cut out of these donations. A very low fraction will reach the people affected by the floods.
