A little over a month ago we had reported that the news of poet Ahmed Faraz’s death was unfounded and although struggling for his life, he was indeed alive. Today it is my sad duty to report that he struggle no more. Leganadry poet Ahmed Faraz died in Islamabad earlier today.
His legend will live on in the eternal beauty of the poetry he has left behind.
Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raajeeoon…

Sad day for the Urdu Poetry... He was a true legend. He has left a treasure of poetry behind him to be cherished so long as Urdu is alive....

A great loss for urdu poetry and lovers. I have met him quite a few times and everytime I was more and more amazed by his personality.
