Ahmadinejad a failure - Iranian people say

OK the verdict is in. The poles are final. Iranian people say Nejat is a failure.
**
The president [Nejat] came to power three years ago promising to improve economic conditions, and the people’s verdict - according to the poll - is that he has failed.**

He would have been in a better shape, had he concentrated on improving the economy, instead of making dimwit statements on Israel.

Looks like iranians may give one more chance to religious regime, and then it is quite possible that a new anti-theocracy revolution sends ayatullahs back to Paris.

Iranians ‘worried about economy’
Iranians are more concerned about their country’s finances than tension with the West or political reform, according to a BBC poll.**

The survey suggests residents think unemployment, poverty and high inflation are Iran’s biggest issues.

It also found there is strong support inside Iran for the country having its own nuclear industry.

The findings come as the BBC launches its Persian television channel for Iran and the wider region.

Nuclear weapons

Those surveyed were asked for the two most important issues facing Iran today and 45% of respondents said unemployment and poverty.

One per cent said hostile relations with the United States and a similar number said lack of democracy or need for political reform.

On the question of whether Iran should be allowed to develop a nuclear industry, 94% of those surveyed agreed.

The poll also questioned people in different countries around the world. A third of respondents in the United Kingdom and 18% in the United States agreed with the nuclear industry question. There appeared to be stronger support in Pakistan, with 88% in favour.

But the poll suggested fewer Iranians are comfortable with the idea of their country being able to build nuclear weapons - half of those questioned were in agreement.

Barack Obama

The main findings do not make good reading for President Ahmadinejad, ahead of his bid for re-election in June, says BBC Iran analyst Sadeq Saba.

The president came to power three years ago promising to improve economic conditions, and the people’s verdict - according to the poll - is that he has failed.

The only good news for the Iranian authorities in this poll is the fact that more than half of Iranians think that their country is heading in the right direction, says our analyst.

The polls shows that many people are happy that security in Iran is generally good and they haven’t faced the same predicament as the Iraqis and the Afghans.

The survey also found 41% of Iranians think Barack Obama being US president will improve relations between the two countries. In the US, almost two-thirds of those asked thought that would be the case.

The poll surveyed a total of 4,163 people at the end of November, after the US election.

you wish burqaposh, you wish.

Is that a comment on the news or just a personal bickering?

No one can wish Iranian theocratic regime.

FYI. They are shooting themselves in the foot.

Iranians are revolution-minded people. They revolted against Shah under much less severe economic and social conditions.

False statement. Try again.

re: Ahmadinejad a failure - Iranian people say

I doubt the people will lose the religious regime. All of the Iranians I know are happy with Ahmedinajad.

He is not a failure, Iranian policy has failed. Thats what the poll shows, please try to read better next time. People still believe they're headed in the right direction.

Also, if any country is failing right now in the public eye, its Israel.

Dude, seriously, tell me something very important:

Do you have a scanning machine which only searches and picks the topics liked by western govts only???

I mean, I’ve never seen your any thread/post which is colliding with western interests… wuts the story?

Wow man. This is good spin.

Ok so you say.

Nejat is not a failure ------
BUT
Iranian policy has failed.

So the $million question is. Who makes Iranian policies that have failed????????

Answer: India!

Not Ahmadinejad. Try again.

re: Ahmadinejad a failure - Iranian people say

now i know why u r a burqaposh!

So he is just a puppet and the real power is in the hand of Ayatullahs?

The nick is to keep alive the memory of those Maulvi sahiban rah who wore burqa while trying to slip through police cordon.

Obviously. Just like Obama or Gilani; they are just puppets also.

Now is the real power in the hand of the Ayatollahs? Sort of; but it's more complex than that.

fair enuf. Maulan Abdul Aziz Burqaposh

it is not good to take their name in public. They have a lot of sharam and haya. Don't you know they can run while hiding in a burqa. Only few marads can do that. So just say "you know who" and every one will understand it.

re: Ahmadinejad a failure - Iranian people say

^ whats worse is that he came on TV and tried to make it look "HALAL" according to the Sharia too. lol

Re: Ahmadinejad a failure - Iranian people say

now see what next slave of Israel on throne of US after 20 January do about that :k:

BTW we still are waiting with flowers to welcome them in Tribal Area as he used to shout in all his campaign. Now see how much ‘water’ he has to do this :k:

Re: Ahmadinejad a failure - Iranian people say

How can you call a leader a failure if his people haven driven him out yet?

A poll is not entirely reflective of a population. Not everyone hates nejaad, and they themselves in the article mentioned "the country is heading in the right direction".

So he hasn't failed his people just yet.

Nice try though.

It would be abnormal for ANY country's residents not to be worried about these issues these days!

"The only good news for the Iranian authorities in this poll is the fact that more than half of Iranians think that their country is heading in the right direction"

then how could they call president a failure? :D

Re: Ahmadinejad a failure - Iranian people say

and BTW, as we go deeper into financial crises, the unemployment rates of most of the countries are expected to grow while in Iran, the is actually expected to come down from 15% to 11% and GDP real growth rate is expected to be stable (for 2008).

Well that's true. He still is the prez.

Well that's a simple indication that Iranian people still like the Ayatullah regime. And Nijat may be the scapegoat for them.

However the future direction of oil economies (in general) is not good in the next few years. There is huge drop of revenues, so they will all pump more to compensate for that, driving the price further down. And all those Wall Street hoarders of oil are financially dead. So few people will be able to jack up the price like they did in the last two years.

FYI. Iran's oil infrastructure in very poor shape. Now they will not have the windfall profit from $150 per barrel oil.

Russia's will charge even more for the nuclear toys, and the result will be horrible for the Iranian economy with this double edged sword.

Ultimately no Pakistani can gloat over the troubles of Iran. Afterall they are our neighbors even though they give money to Pakistani Shia militants, or side with India on international matters.

The thread is just to show the failed policies of Iran, and Pakistanis should learn a lesson from it.

That's all.

Best wishes for Nijat and Ayatullahs. May they bring prosperity to poor Iranians.
