Last night I was praying in my room and I did Rafa’ Yadain (lifting the hands) during the prayer after I finished I saw my dad standing there, we don’t usually talk about religion much but last night my dad asked my why I wasn’t praying the normal Hanafi way. And we started an argument about weather to follow one of the four schools of thought. My dad says that scholars these days have no way near as much knowledge about religion as Imam Abu Hanifa who spent his whole life studying Ahadith and instead of me getting into all this sect stuff, I should just be a normal Sunni Hanafite like everyone else and concentrate on praying and not committing the big sins and that’s enough.
The Salafi/Ahle Hadith scholars say that some of the Ahadith Imam Abu Hanifa used were weak and its wrong to follow him because even though he was a great scholar he was human and made mistakes.
Could I have some arguments for or against Taqleed, I would appreciate it if people abstain from posting long cut ‘n’ pastes.
