Ahamedies

Apart from minor religious differences, are these people not more educated, more polish well organise and respected community around the world than others?

What they do is their business, Are they not super human beings?

Dakter,

Who’s more powerful, God or British? British off course, well God is helpless in erasing them. About a century has passed a single man raised his voice and now they are spread all over the world, may be in millions or so but they are still growing and spreading. Why your prayers are not working. It means your God is weak in this case. British rulz yipppeee

May be they are not respectable in your views, may be they are some who live among them and praise them. Your arguments are totally one sided and hatred invoking (like the one you recently present for Hinduism), contrary to Islam which is a religion of peace, and respects the rights of all mankind. If you have even studied your faith thoroughly, you would have find many additive impurities.

Moreover, to learn the actual facts and figures about ones faith, one must spend some time with them. The jhoot, tohmat and gheebat are all evils, and are considered as eating the flesh of ones dead brother.

Since over almost 80% of Ahmadis are Pakistani (and overwhelmingly Punjabis) the remainder is West African, European, Indian, and Far Eastern, so they are spread pretty much globally, perhaps with the biggest overseas concentration in the UK.

I don’t know about foreign Ahmadis (i.e., non-Pakistani Ahmadis), but Ahmadis of Pakistan origin are not any more or any less respected, educated, or organized (may be little better organized) than any other community. What makes them standout as a group is that they have been given an extra task of defending their beliefs. Most propaganda machinery (mainly financed by the Saudis) try to make their lives miserable, whether it is opening up a Mosque in Copenhagen, or setting up a community center in Tel-Aviv (yes, there are Israeli Ahmadis too, although very small in number, but growing), they often face problems.

One admirable feature of Ahmadiya movement is their way of Tableegh (preaching) is that every family “Wakaf” (sends one male child, donate is perhaps not the right term) one Child who becomes a Murabbi (preacher). In most cases, his own family finances his education and later he devotes his life to preaching. More often than less, a Murabbi is highly educated (rarely less than a college graduate, but mostly schooled upto the highest level of education, in many cases PhDs). I personally know (and am related to) preachers who have degrees from best institutions and have taken on preaching despite promising future in their own discipline. The current Head of Ahmadiya community (Mirza Tahir Ahmad) holds a degree in History from London U. These are selfless people, and they live on modest means. One can see Murabis in Senegal, Ivory Coast, Liberia, etc., riding on their “standard issue” bicycle and preaching “Islam” in far-fetched villages of Africa. Not only do they preach Islam, but also teach in schools run by Ahmadiya missionary. I became very close to being one, but did not fit the credentials of a rock solid belief in God and its creations.

Philosophically, I am opposed to “conversions”, as I believe that to go and influence indigenous cultures is not kindhearted. But that is my own view. I most certainly respect what Ahmadiya missionaries do worldwide (mainly their efforts to open schools and hospitals).

So to answer you question, Ahmadis are not anymore or any less respected or educated than other overseas Pakistanis. May be they are a tad bit more organized.
