Hope you guys are all doing great. I was wondering about how in some of ahadith, it’s mentioned that if you do a certain task then Allah will reward you with something. For example in one of the hadith, Holy Prophet PBUH said "“Whosoever defends his Muslim brother in his absence, Allah will keep the Hellfire away from his face on the Day of Resurrection.” (Tirmidhi)
What I’m trying to understand is, why would Allah keep hellfire away from a person who sins in his entire life(for example) and just because he defended his brother in his absence, the hell fire will be away from him ?
There are many ahadith like these. If you do something, then Allah will keep hellfire away from you. Does it not matter what other kind of deeds have u been doing ?
I heard/read that "gives alms and save yourself from hellfire even if the alms is a dry date". Allah SWT is very Rahman and Raheem. He love his creature and gives us such opportunites to save ourself from hell.
Long time ago I read when the Janati and Dozaghi were announed. The Dozaghi will stand at sides in a rows on the way of Janati who will pass from there to enter in Jannat. A person (from Dozaghi) will say to a person of Jannti that: 'Do you remember me? In such such day and time you asked me glass of water and I given it to you'. Then that person (Janati) will holds his hand and tells Allah SWT that this person had done a favour him and he wants to repay his favour. Allah SWT will say him to take alongwith him in jannat and he will granted same level in jannat of that Jannati person.
It doesnt mean that we just start doings favours not to do Ibbadat anymore so at the end we'll enter in Jannat for the sake of such favours. Its actually depend on our intentions and Allah SWT knows what is our intention and what is in our heart and mind. Moreover its depend on what circumstances we defended our Muslim brother in his absence and what intention was while giving our alms.

Thank you for the explanation, Lethal.. but then again, it raises another question. The day of judgement is when Allah will show us all what we've been doing in the world and will give us reward or punishment based on that. How is it that on one hand,we say that Allah is aware of whatever we do and then Allah wouldnt know what that dozakhi has done to the jannati person ? why is it that the jannati have to remind Allah of what favor dozakhi has done on him ?
I understand these traditions to b symbolic......haven't we heard the traditions such as that a person back biting has his good deeds eaten away like a fire finishes dry grass......or as Quran states that back biting is akin to eating ur dead bros meat.......these expressions point to reality but can't be taken literally.....
There are people whose sins outweigh their good deeds, there are people whose good deeds cancel their sins and there are people whose good deeds outweigh their sins ...
None from these have earned the right of paradise because even if they did end up with more good deeds the premium for Jannah would be too high ... Instead Allah (SWT) decides how and through His Justice and Mercy delivers people to Jannah and otherwise .
First of all, Allah SWT is aware of everything and we shouldn't doubt at any stage that He wouldn't know. Allah SWT said: I'll forgive Haqooq Allah (Allah SWT ke haqooq), not Haqooq ul Abaad (Bando ke haqooq). This is how such alms or dunyavi favours done on any person cause a token of entrance in Jannat.
