Re: ahaan.. Not bad at all…

Can anyone post the article here - actually this site is blocked here in KSA! It might be temporary though…

Just watched the programme. It was quite thought provoking. My dad had seen it and told me to look for it, but I didnt bother until I saw this thread. Gadha :k:

It should have been titled US case for war is built on blindness, hypocrisy and lies.

Geoff Hoon (UK Def. Sec), Ed Koch (Former NY Mayor) and Victoria Toensing (Former Asst. Att. General) were annihilated by Michael Moore, Sheikh Hamza Yusuf Hanson and the New York audience

I found Sheikh Hanson’s replies to be most logical while Michael Moore gave the audience a good laugh with his constant jocular criticism and sarcasm of the War Hawks.

Sheikh Hanson also mentioned how India has not abided by the UN resolutions on Kashmir.

One question that seemed to bewilder the war mongers was asked by a certain Samir from the audience: “Is there a special-relationship b/w UK and US or is this a convenient way for Britain to feel globally important” :hehe:

Answer to Samir would be when UK isn't really able to defend itself and depends on US for its security then it would make sense to suck up...

Answer to Samir would be when UK isn't really able to defend itself and depends on US for its security then it would make sense to suck up...

Thats what the consensus seemed to be among the audience and the non-govt guests on the panel although they didnt use the words like “sucking uo”. You could see from their grins :hehe:

And to think Americans think they are under the spotlight a tad too much...

We have a popular term here in the UK for Blair...

'Poodle'...

the LAST time he said something that was slightly different to Bush..

The headlines were...

'Poodle bites BACK'...

Brit politics as we have them :D:D

Linda Colley thoughts on why US and UK emulate and support eachother.
Interesting read form The Guardian

**What Britannia taught Bush **

“Tony Blair may genuinely believe that Saddam Hussein is a danger to world peace. He may even be right. But the reasons why he is moved so docilely to back American global adventures go much deeper than this. American empire has always mirrored British empire while in the end exceeding it. And in clambering on the head of the American eagle like a small but determined mouse, successive postwar British leaders have sought and found a final, vicarious share of imperial experience. The torch of empire has indeed been passed across the Atlantic, but the British still seek to bask in its glow.”
