Still in love..at least one of them finds it hard to move on and the other is just used to having them around.

Disagree, someone people can get over their love. Over time we become different people so they might not be in love anymore, but still have a close friendship

i think on breakup the guy will want to remain friends for personal gain like meeting your girlfriends and maybe the chance for a makeup or a booty call.

if they are ready to be friend.. then NEVER.. a lover would never want to remain a friend.. if such a relation breaksup and two of them come to know that they can not get married at any cost.. then they cant be ready to be just friends!!
