Re: Agile
We do it partially. We dont follow all the agile/scrum methodoligies but we do follow some of it and thats how I like it.
Re: Agile
My PM usually ask me how I'll like it for this project . If project is critical and technically challenging then I ask for daily stand up otherwise its very informal .
Re: Agile
Scrums and sprints - dumb things PMs (and some managers) do to make themselves look busy. Let people do their job rather than *talk *about it.
Re: Agile
I am one of those victims, who hate it to the core. The daily status meeting is plain waste of time. Can't stand it. I stopped attending those untill PM used to come to my desk and started asking me to join the meeting.
Re: Agile
Agile normally needs to be tailored into process but still i say Agil burri bala. While agile is aimed at rapid development and fulfilling the changing nature of projects it puts burdon of requirement engineering on developer. In waterfall model requirement engineering likely to take 70% cost and time of the project. In agile customer remains onsite but he mostly dont even know what he wants. That jobs of system analyst and domain expert has to be done by developer.

Does it happen weekly?

Easy for you, one to one not team based talk?

I don't think it is waste of time unless your team takes good 30 minutes or some folks give long explanation? Yes, it is only waste of time if you do 5 days a week . I would be happy if it happens 3 days a week because some tasks do take longer time and repeating same thing for 2-3 days can be waste of time. Overall, I do support it.

This is funny, you were specially asked to join lol cannot escape anymore.

It is said to be rapid development Agile but it does not happen they way it should work. No one follows 100% Agile , this is what I think. What you think about following Agile+Waterfall together?

Nope happens daily but we dont have burndown charts and such.

Agile+ conventional engineering approach is good. A daily stand up of 5 to 10 minutes is good for team where every member should tell what he is working on, what is plan. But making sprints hard and fast is hard to follow.

A strict road map has been issued but already falling behind, don't think it is going to be successful.

We follow Agile+Waterfall methodologies. Daily stand up keeps everyone under pressure and reminds you to complete the task, one cannot stand up and repeat the same task everyday lol We definitely fail to keep sprints on going, always falling behind, it all depends on the fixes and issues some times.
