I would have to agree with somehowcollide, when I say that the one night light shut off and mingling between sexes does not happen. The Ismailis in Africa, as well as Canada, do not celebrate the 10th of Muharram. If anything of the sort would happpen in India and Pakistan, or Arab countries, I cannot say.
It is ridiculous too, to even consider something like that happening in Islamic countries. Bottom line In all my years of being an Ismaili, we never celebrated Muharam, and neither did we have this light turning off form of socialization.
Whoever said that is pulling a fast one on you.
