We see alot of people not admitting their age and/or not being happy with the growing age. However, i suppose that is only when they are not settled in life and find that the age factor is going to go against them? Like if someone is not married yet they would feel conscious about their growing age. Or if a man has not established himself he wl feel weird about being of a good age yet not making it in life.
What do you guys think?

Well the 2 reasons you've given are justifiable. But I think it's a disease in our desi community [in both men and women] to lie about their age.

only females who can hide their passports and birth certificate lie about their age...men never do...men are like rice/wine...the older the better! ;) hehe

People try to pass as younger than they are -- as though their dyed hair will make up for their aging skin...The thing to do is to claim to be 10 years older than you are -- then people will say WOW! S/he looks incredibly good for their age! ;)

Well here in Pakistan - I want to look older then I am , so may these bloody bureaucratic morons start taking me , my work and my thoughts serious ... As if you dont have a freaking 20 years experience with the portfolio I carry .. Then either you are a Siifar'rishii or a genius , misfit in this working climate .

Do I hide my age? Yes. Why? Because I am far younger than I look. I look like I am in my mid-30s it helps a lot with work and getting the respect I need to do my job. When they find out my age it makes my work harder. Much much harder where age denotes experience and wisdom.
However in other non-work related situations if someone asks I tell them.

So far I haven't needed to lie about my age. People say I look younger by a year or two than my age and am ok with that too :)

I always thought hiding your age was bit more of a western thing.. I've heard of a few cases of ppl lying during rishta talks tho..
