I know someone who is looking for a girl. He is like 36 I think. And his family wants a girl who is no more than 24.

That’s like MORE than a 10 year difference even.

Is this thought still prevalent in our society regarding huge age differences? Why do families do this? I was trying to point out older girls for the guy, but I was told it’s pointless, his mother is not ok with someone older. I was told 25 would be “pushing it”.

yup, its very much prevalent in our society. majority of the mothers want a “choti” larki for their sons. even if a son is 40 years he is considered JAWAN and they look for girls as young as 25-26 . they would not even give a second thought to girls who have crossed 28.. And the shocking part is that these 40 something guys even find the girls 15 years younger than them.

till the time girls families readily accept rishtas of older boys for their daughters the trend will continue.
