  1. By what age would you like to see yourself stop working on a full time basis?

  2. To what age do you feel that your parents should work?

1- as long as I am able to- i like woring

2- as long as they want, are able to etc. That is for fulltime. I do think that on a part time basis or as an as needed expert consultant, they should be able to work for longer than they would work part time. I would do the same. there are two major impacts of this, we dont just lose teh decades of experience when people retire and secondly I think its good for people mentally and emotionally to feel they are needed, are making an impact etc

absolutely true, what you said here, Fraudia bhai.

for peers as young professionals, there is no other way imaginable that their personal and national prosperity can be envisioned without working.

for parents' generation, other than financial gains, normal level of working affects the cognitive ability to be active and to stay physically fit as well as with each aging year.

Legal pension age here is 67. So you want it or not, you will have to work till that date, :D

I don't want my parents to work, unless they want to keep themselves busy this way.

danda wala,
thanks for reminding pension. :) active professionals like noble laureates & skilled crafts people do work until their late 90s. perhaps not as much as they use to in younger years & not for the same reason of earning but to share their life stories experience through staying available as an advisor and for informal education.

Dushwari, as those guys are not doing it for "earning", I wouldnt call it work. It is more like a hobby. And people have hobbies all their lives.
