Afterthoughts... Ayub Khan

What do people generally think about Ayub Khan now? His massive support for US and capitalism and becoming field marshall without fighting battles!

Re: Afterthoughts... Ayub Khan

Sikandar Mirza and Ayoub Khan are the root cause of the problems we are in.

That is, rigging, bringing Army into politics, threatening other institutes or bringing in corrupt corporate heads in those institutes so that they can become b-team of Army ruler, production of "civilian" politicians to suit the army janta are few to state.

Re: Afterthoughts... Ayub Khan

He was a corrupt dictator, ruined institutions of Pakistan by corrupting army, judiciary and bureaucracy. Brought bad naam-e-zamana "Basic Democracy", initiated meaningless war in 1965 with India, which brought Pakistan to economic bankruptcy, rigged 1964 elections to defeat Fatima Jinah and initiated fraud Agar Tala case against Sh. Mujib, which paved way to breakup in 1971.

[/quote]

Bhutta jee was the biggest supporter of the war (a hawk like cheeney) but did a switcheroo and blame ayub for "loosing the war" in tashkent after the war. Challo lets still give it to ayub though bhutto participated in it.

initiated fraud Agar Tala case against Sh. Mujib
[/quote]

No fraad even according the banga badhu's daughter herself who admitted that it was very real. But then, I wouldn't blame them entirely as they were given the raw end of the deal and forget the army, even bhutto called them suwar kay bachchay so it was much more than ayub or yahya khan. At least ayub didn't sent the army on a bad COIN operation there.

Re: Afterthoughts... Ayub Khan

War was started by the dictator Ayub who was the most powerful ruler of the time. Ask your parents, did they not support this meaningless war in 1965? Being a child I also supported it and thought Pakistan won that war. But after many years I came to know the reality and could not believe it that Pakistan actually lost that war. Media, JI were the main culprits to misguide general population by lying day and night. Ask your parents how Shakil Ahmad and Anwar Behzad reported this 17 days war on Radio Pakistan.

So according to you even the case wan not fraud, they were justified for the separation. Ayub Khan paved way for breakup instead of giving them their rights. It was really army who gave them raw deal in 10 years of Ayub Khan and 3 years of Yahya Khan.

Wikipedia,

Muhammad Ayub Khan (Urdu: محمد ایوب خان‎; 14 May 1907 – 19 April 1974) was a five-star general officer and statesman, serving as the secondPresident of Pakistan and its first military dictator from 1958 until his forced resignation in 1969.[SUP][1]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayub_Khan_(Field_Marshal)#cite_note-Story_of_Pakistan.2C_Part-1-1)[/SUP] A self-appointed field marshal,[SUP][2]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayub_Khan_(Field_Marshal)#cite_note-Story_of_Pakistan.2C_Part-3-2)[/SUP] the only such five-star rank in Pakistan’s military history, he was appointed the first chief martial law administrator by President Iskander Mirza in 1958, a post he retained until the promulgation of a new constitution in 1962.[SUP][3]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayub_Khan_(Field_Marshal)#cite_note-Pakistan_Herald.com-3)[/SUP]
After receiving training at Sandhurst, Ayub fought in World War II as a British Indian Army officer. He opted for the new state of Pakistan while stationed in East Pakistan in 1947 at the time of independence. He was appointed the country’s first native commander-in-chief in 1951 by then-Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan,[SUP][4]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayub_Khan_(Field_Marshal)#cite_note-countrystudies-4)[/SUP] in a controversial promotion over several senior officers. President Mirza’s decision to declare martial law in 1958 was supported by Ayub, whom Mirza declared chief martial law administrator.[SUP][5]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayub_Khan_(Field_Marshal)#cite_note-Story_of_Pakistan.2C_part-II-5)[/SUP] Two weeks later, Ayub deposed Mirza in a bloodless coup and assumed the presidency.[SUP][1]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayub_Khan_(Field_Marshal)#cite_note-Story_of_Pakistan.2C_Part-1-1)[/SUP][SUP][5]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayub_Khan_(Field_Marshal)#cite_note-Story_of_Pakistan.2C_part-II-5)[/SUP][SUP][6]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayub_Khan_(Field_Marshal)#cite_note-6)[/SUP] He relinquished the post of army chief to General Musa Khan the same year.[SUP][1]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayub_Khan_(Field_Marshal)#cite_note-Story_of_Pakistan.2C_Part-1-1)[/SUP]
Ayub continued his predecessors’ policy of a non-aligned alliance with the United States during the Cold War, joining CENTO, and allowing the U.S. and Britain access to facilities inside Pakistan, most notably the airbase outside of Peshawar, from which (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U-2_incident) over the Soviet Unionwere launched. He also strengthened military ties with neighboring China, while relations deteriorated with the Soviet Union and India. There was the five-week war in 1965 with India, ending in a United Nations-mandated ceasefire. Domestically, Ayub embraced private-sector industrialization andfree-market principles, making the country one of Asia’s fastest-growing economies. He built several infrastructure projects, including canals, dams and power stations, began Pakistan’s space programme, and gave less priority to nuclear deterrence.[SUP]citation needed][/SUP] Ayub’s reign also saw increasing political tensions in East Pakistan.
After defeating Fatima Jinnah in the controversial presidential elections of 1965, Ayub’s standing began to slide amid allegations of widespread vote rigging. The war with India the same year concluded with the Tashkent Agreement, which many Pakistanis considered an embarrassing compromise. Demonstrations across the country over rising prices, including those led by Ayub’s minister-turned-rival Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, increased dramatically from 1967 onwards. In 1969, Ayub resigned and handed over power to General Yahya Khan, who declared martial law for the second time. Following ill health, Ayub died in 1974. His legacy remains mixed; he is credited with economic prosperity and what supporters dub “the decade of development”, but is criticized for beginning the first of the army’s incursions into civilian politics, and policies that later led to the Bangladesh crisis.[SUP][2]](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayub_Khan_(Field_Marshal)#cite_note-Story_of_Pakistan.2C_Part-3-2)[/SUP]

Assalamoalaikum chief, umeed khairiyat se hounge :flower1:

“Ayub won the elections and was re-elected for a second term. In 1967, disapproval of price hikes of food prompted demonstrations across the country led by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Following protests in East Pakistan, Ayub resigned in March 1969 and appointed Yahya Khan. Later, fighting a brief illness, he died in 1974.”

So apparently bhutto led the demonstrations in east pakistan, and Ayub being the US’s tool that he was simply went on to resign? Interesting. Bhutto then being the ultra retard that he was gave up on east pakistan which today is bangladesh. Mind-mucking-blown!

Sach karwa zarur hota lekin phir bhi sun lijiyey, aapka bhutto pakistan ki ba-shaoor awam ke liyey mehez sirf aur sirf eik mufaad-parast, ana-parast, zaani aur sharabi aadmi tha jisko uski saza baa-hesiyat phaansi latakne se poori huwi.
