Aftermath of the ongoing operation against Militants

Of course I will question them if most of the bank employees and customers end up dead or crippled and the mastermind of the chors escapes.

IMVHO the intention itself is not all important, but how it is carried out and if any concrete positive results have been achieved.

I agree when you say that the dirty water should be thrown out , but are you sure that we are not throwing the baby also ?

I am with you for supporting the bravery and sacrifices of the brave soldiers for defending our country but will not endorse blindly the tact and planning of the Generals .

So you doubt Generals? Huh?

So you think with a "world view" from your chair, that Gen. Kiyani doesn't want to defend our beautiful country?

Why are you bent on spreading the seeds of doubt and uncertainty. Don't you know that only munafiqs spread rumors, distrust and doubts?

You seem to be good natured and kind hearted, so perhaps your love of people make you say things that appear as "doubts and uncertainty".

Why do you forget that VERY FEW houses got damaged due to army action, and very few people got killed considering the scale of operation.

In buner people have already gone back to harvest their wheat field. How do you think it was possible?

Don't you realize that the sacrifices of our officers AND jawans made it possible?

Brother, why are you putting words in my mouth. I am sure Army has good intensions but you should realize that Generals ( without taking any specific names ) are human beings and are not above making mistakes, as any good student of our history should know. And if I am a munafiq for using my own judgement to analyze a situation , then so be it. Thankfully we will be never be under Taliban rule because of our brave army , so I am not likely to lose it.

So what about all these reports of millions in the IDP camps. Oh must be propaganda by foreign infiltrated newspapers , :lahol:

Collateral damage means civilian death and destruction of civilian infrastructure in Swat valley.

IDP issue is there, but they are SAFE in the camps. Heck they can get their beards shaved OPENLY by Swati barbers. There is fear from Taliblees quom but they are SAFE.

Do not confuse between the issue of IDPs SAFE in their CAMPS with Taliblees quom's destruction and terror in Swat.

Should we go back to logic 101?

Brother, try to see them as your fellow human beings and pakistanis rather than an inconveniance to be dealt with. How will you feel if you had lost your home and were living in squalid camps. I guess you would be very glad.

If by making such patronising comments you shore up your insecurities , then I am happy to serve as your target :)

Indian never had to fight people of Kashmir. It was and is the terrorists - the so called mujahideen with training and funds from across the border - that India fought.

To a certain extent the Taleban that Pak army is fighting today was itself Pakistan’s making . The masses cannot do anything about it except suffer in silence

good post

Ya and half million people marching on the streets of Srinagar asking for freedom are all sent by Pakistan..

IDPs ARE being TREATED as FELLOW HUMAN beings. Go visit an IDP camp for a change. It is precisely these emotional, but misdirected statements that cause more harm than good.

If IDPs aka Swat people were not considered fellow human beings, then WHY the HECK we are sacrificing our soldiers and officers.

IDPs are our FELLOW Pakistanis, and thus we as a nation are trying to clear the Taliblees plague from Swat, so that the IDPs can go home and live in peace. So that the Swati barbers can shave, and Swati girls can go to school without fear of getting bombed, and people can enjoy music, and live their lives the way THEY want to, instead of being dictated by Beduin nomads or their 2-bit tribal slaves.

So in brief we do agree on the End : throwing out the Talibani thugs. But where we differ on :

1. The Means:You think there was no other alternative to the current approach ( helicopter gunships/ heavy artillery) , while in my opinion an infantry-based more subtle approach could have been employed to minimize the suffering of the common people.

2. The Future: You believe that Swatis will go back to their homes and will have even better lives because there will no longer be any Taliban to terrorize them. But considering the precedents of our past governments ( both democratic and military) this seems highly unlikely to me. Soon the "victory" will be announced. The IDPs will no longer be on front-pages. AID money ( which came at a great cost to our honour and dignity) will be diverted to private Swiss accounts.
And after 10 years... who knows ??

But that's just me being a munafiq .. spreading rumours and what not !! I hope that for Pakistan's sake that naive optimists are right and I am wrong .
