After wedding dressing up

I want to know what things are essential after the wedding and walima has been dealt with , for example, what kind of dresses should v make for early days of marriage, what to wear on dinners, what kind of jewellery shud v wear ( artifical wont be appropriate)…what kind of dresses and jewllery shud v make i am very confused…

Re: After wedding

for dresses make semiformal stuff...i had about 10 really fancy outfits...and i just wore them to weddings and all...half arent even worn yet...but my semiformals i wore all of them to dinners, and even in the house...i guess in pakistan girls are suppose to be dressed up every day coz someone can come meet them and i wasnt used to it but it was fun...and make sure u have 2-3 small sets that are gold..they come in handy during these days...

Re: After wedding

thanx... i was also thinking not to make fancy outfits bcoz fashion changes and v dont get to wear them...so i will go for semiformals..but cant v wear lawn suits everyday..it will be so uncomfortable wearing semiformal in the house???

Re: After wedding

nooo dont wear lawn suits rite after the wedding...i did that mistake i went shopping and wore a lawn suit and everyone yelled at me... =(

Re: After wedding

reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyy............but do the in laws expect to us to wear gold jewellery n semi formals early days...:-S

Re: After wedding

yes...but enjoy it coz thats the only time you will be wearing it..even though i hated it coz it was so hot in pakistan...i still miss dressing up coz now that im back to canada i dont wear any of it =( ....lolz

Re: After wedding

Every morning, i wore a new lawn suit till afternoon (i got married in July in lahore), and then in the evening we were either invited somewhere or going out or someone coming around so i wore semi-formals! In jewellery, when i was invited to a dawat, i tried to match gold jewellery but otherwise at home or going out, used to wear matching artificial stuff! so bit of both i guess!

Re: After wedding

wow that seems SO hard. I'm Pakistani and I'm getting married to a Gujrati guy, I wonder if they do the same thing.

Re: After wedding

it seems excited to get married :cb:

Re: After wedding

You need to dress up a bit in the initial days of your wedding especially if you are living with In-laws. Show off your semi-formals with a touch of makeup and jewelery.

Re: After wedding

You shud dress up with bangles, and Earrings for sure and some makeup. you have all ur life to be comfortable but the early days of marriage are like wonderful cuz u get to dress up and you are the center of attention everywhere hehehe.

Re: After wedding dressing up

i agree wid u nidasak

Re: After wedding dressing up

i will be living with inlaws....so it means early in the morning i will have to dress up wear makeup n jewellery??

Re: After wedding dressing up

not necessarily. You dont have to be all that decked up, but yes when you are with inlaws, you do need to be a tad bit careful about that. A nice semi formal suit, nothing too heavy and a bit of makeup touch up, and with jewelery I guess you can keep bangles and rings only, that will be good,Moreover, I believe thats the only time when you get to enjoy all the attention around so if you are dolled up a bit, why not enjoy that :)

Re: After wedding

hey , your getting married to a gujarati... wot thats cool and quite a multi cultural thing....im a gujarati as well

so what kind of wedding are you guys planning ???

Re: After wedding dressing up

I am marrying a pakistani and I am pasthun born outside pk lol looks like I am into a culture chok. Do u really have to be dress up all the time with ur in laws in pk? I will only be staying there for a couple of weeks before going on our honeymoon and than back home to EU

Re: After wedding dressing up

are your parents from pakistan or afghanistan? Im pashtun as well, born in Canada, but my parents are from pakistan. Im marrying a pakistani guy...we are getting married in Canada (both families are here), but then moving to the states after one week (my fiance works in the states). So the first week I will be with my in-laws and will have to dress up. I will probably just wear semi-formal or party wear (with some kaam on it), and wear small gold sets. Thats the only time I will get to dress up, so Im going to take advantage of it!!!
