We shouldn’t really judge people based on their knowledge of Islam or Quran. Doesn’t really matter if he forgot what he was trying to recite.

The real sad thing is that PPP is supposed to be LIBERAL, PROGRESSIVE AND SECULAR kind of party and yet the officials from the party have to (MIS)USE Islam to continue making fools out of general population. If NS or IK do that, it is hypocritical but at least they don’t claim to be liberal, progressive politicians. See how Asifa ‘Bhutto’ Zardari changes from ‘liberal’, ‘progressive’ in London to all momin in Pakistan…

Being secular does not mean you have a complete disconnect with religion. You can be both religious and liberal. Jinnah was a secular Muslim and one could say that IK is a progressive Muslim. I believe in miyanaravi. Either extreme is bad. There is nothing objectionable about the picture above

Being secular does not mean you have a complete disconnect with religion. You can be both religious and liberal. Jinnah was a secular Muslim and one could say that IK is a progressive Muslim. I believe in miyanaravi. Either extreme is bad. There is nothing objectionable about the picture above

Nothing objectionable, indeed. One can be religious in personal capacity and liberal at the same time, I agree. My problem is when we just use religion for political purposes, even by ‘liberal’ parties like PPP.

I am just pointing out that we (regardless what political leanings we have) try to use Islam for our benefit and at the same time claim mullahs do it. I don’t think there is anything objectionable about Aitezaz Ahsan not knowing how to recite Quran either. I am just pointing to the fact that he CHOSE to do it not for his personal religious reasons but to IMPRESS others through superficial religiosity. This is what Asifa is doing. This is what Benazir did. What is the difference between Mullah and Benazir then?

P.S. A true ‘religious’ or a ‘liberal’ person would not do ‘jaisa des waisa bhes’.

"miyanaravi" doesn't come into play with Islam. either your with islam or with man-made system. secularism is not in islam.
