… (for performing hajj) are you supposed to go straight to Makkah for umrah? I mean how do you spend the days before 8th Zulhaj?

Yes you would have to go to makkah to perform umra as during your flite you would have crossed mikaat ... after the 1st umra till 8th you can either stay in makkah doing tawafs etc or you can go to medinah which is approx. 5/6 hours drive ... you can go via taxi or saptco buses or private taxis ... hope this answers your query n if you have any further hajj related questions please pm me ... thanks

Depends which airport are you landing at, if in madina then no need to go staright for umrah, and if in jeddah you should go to makakh for umrah as you have crossed meeqat.
if you want to relax then do nothing, offer salah with jamaat in haram and (when in Makakh)just do some tawaf and keep watching kaaba, a muslim can sit in front of kaaba for the whole day and drink loads of zamzam.
When in madina offer salat and recite darood /salam as much as you can.
try not to fight with any one, try to be khadim of every one how unislamic one appear to you just be khadim. and try not to find mistakes there, the hajj visit is not for that. abstain from gunnah and mashalalh your hajj will be accepted if it is done with halal income.

**One of the indication is that life before and after hajj is different. you come closer to islam and refrain from gunahs.
