You bring up an interesting point. I haven't seen a top indian in a democratic party position of power kinda like Booby Jindal. If republicans are only interested in indians due to "diversity", i there they are making a mistake. While; the Indian American community is affluent, it by no means have a voting base similar to latinos or blacks.
Indians due to their affluence and other factors are indifferent to traditional immigrant and minority issues and that's why they are palpbable to republican party base and acceptable to it's leadership. Republicans are not interested in pandering to blacks and latino otherwise they'd cease to be a post 60s republican party, dominated by dixiecrate racists, bible thumpers and neocons.
In order for token removal of the stigma of a predominately white party with apathetic, in some case antipathic stance on minority issues, republicans are not looking to draft large numbers of latinos and blacks to dilute the agendas of whackos such as Limbaugh and his ilk in the party. And this where the Indians fit in, after gaining affluence they want total assimilation, a proverbial seat at the table with the big boys and they are willing to ditch other minorities and their interests as well as the democratic party, where ironically they'd find themselves more at home, then amongst the hee-hawing, anti-intellectual and mostly southerners of the republican party. It truly is a marriage of convenience with the biggest gainers being white republicans and the Indian, true to their psyche are ever ready to play the compliant party with profound comlexes to overcome.
Look for more intrinsicly liberal indians to jump onto the republican band wagon and cheer on while the rabid bigot leader of republicans Limbaugh spews his filth...
