Afridi's stint with Derbyshire ends on a bitter note

Ohh boy, who would include this Gora reject in the Pakistan team now. I always thought that this guy should never have been included in the first place. Since out inferiority complex has always led us to follow the goras, we should honor that and not let adridi play for Pakistan ever again.

Afridi’s stint with Derbyshire ends on a bitter note
KARACHI: The short stint of Shahid Afridi with English county Derbyshire has ended on a sour note with their head coach not happy with the commitment, performance and attitude of the all-rounder.

Afridi was signed to play for the first two months of the county season, with the option he could stay for the rest of the year if his relationship with the county worked well. However, he’s released by the county after just over a month and the reason for this is said to be that coach Adrian Pierson was not happy with him.

Indian batsman Muhammad Kaif is now playing for Derbyshire in the one-day games.

‘The News’ has learnt that Pierson was so unhappy with Afridi that he even sent a letter to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), expressing surprise how Pakistan played someone of Afridi’s calibre and talent in over 150 One-day Internationals. “The coach has criticised the cricketing skills, attitude, and commitment of the all-rounder,” a source disclosed.

But when contacted, PCB Chief Executive Rameez Raja said nothing official had been received from anyone about Afridi’s behaviour or performance. “But we’ve heard some things ourselves. We’ve heard that the coach made some strong remarks a few days ago.”

The source said the letter was not official and sent to inform them about how Afridi fared in the County Championship.

The interesting thing is that Derbyshire signed Afridi because he had enjoyed a fruitful half-season with Leicestershire in 2001, after injury to the club’s first-choice overseas player Australian Daniel Marsh.

Afridi was dropped from the Pakistan team after the World Cup and had also been ignored for three one-day tournaments in Sharjah, Sri Lanka and England.

Sources said the Pakistan Cricket Board were not carrying out an investigations into the matter. Afridi, since being released by Derbyshire, has been playing and coaching in Holland.

an idiot will remain an idiot... what else I can say ...

these pakistani newspapers and their mirch masala. Afridi was initially signed for just a couple months and played his full 2 months of county cricket and was released at the end of May. Afridi was signed by Derbyshire because of an injury to Nathan Astle and later Derbyshire signed Kaif to play for Afridi at the end of his contract. I have neither read or heard any news like this anywhere, except for "Jang."

And btw, mr. lunaticCalm what does the title of the this thread have to do with its content? nothing!

What an idiotic article, nor did M Kaif replaced him or neither did Afridi was kicked out. He was only contracted to play for couple weeks which he did.

Khus kam jahan pak.

Good riddance.

Well I think its true. The english edition of jang is pretty accurate. Besides the authencity of the article I don't think so it's much of a suprise that afridi possess no skills.
