Though Pakistan lost Hobart ODI against Australia in the ongoing VB Series, Shahid Afridi played gem of an innings scoring 56 off just 26 balls.

The highlights of Afridi’s innings was two successive sixes off Glenn McGrath. Don’t think any other batsman has dared to treat McGrath in this fashion (Afridi’s teammate Abdur Razzaq once hit McGrath for five successive fours though).

During the course of his innings, Afridi reached his fifty off only 24 balls (with a six!), which is the second fastest fifty scored against Australia after New Zealander Lance Cairns’ 21-ball fifty in 1982-83.

Afridi’s strike rate of 215.38 is also the highest by any player against Australia in an innings of 50 or more.

Actually he should take up gulli danda..hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in sports.

Thats how he plays. Teams should consider themselves lucky, when he gets out cheaply.
I don't think Matsui has any clue as to how the base ball is played, beside carrying the
bat to his local bar.

we batted pretty well m8 just our strike partnership of shabi and ganju didn't quite work out, i think we'll beat windies if we carry the same momentum into the next match.

Afridi is one the best cricketers Pakistan have ever produced.
He must take his cricket seriously.... than see....

^ bhai you forgot Sehwag and Tendilia’s sixes on cover in WC03 match against Actor and Wasim? That was one horrible sight for months to follow.

But Afridi is the hardest hitter in the cricket, no doubt :k:

Just one good innings doesn`t make him a BRILLIANT player. He needs consistency.

Yes, and he should. Lets see what he do in the comming matches of this series. Pakistan wants him to play even better in the presence of many injuries and difficult opponents.

That backfoot six over cover off Lee was a sight to behold and yeah Mcgrath wont forget those two sixes for sometime to come.
