If he is removed from captaincy, he wont have anyone else to blame for it. But If board is considering long term, then Hafeez is their man, Misbah wont be around for the next world cup.

^^ Agree with your thoughts and I have been thinking exactly that since yesterday.
However, the way I see it, if PCB is thinking of Misbah then it has to be short term…sort of a “spanking” on Afridi and they will cover it up later with “Afridi was given a rest”. And if they are really thinking longterm then it must be someone else then Misbah for the shorter formats.

who is saying that there is anything wrong with him playing in SLPL...it is more so nonsensical that he be playing in SLPL but not in Pakistan team due to rest. Only way he would justify playing in SLPL and not being in team is that PCB actually "drops" him...

But he didnt said that he wanted rest........PCB dropped him.....N Ireland tour is in May and SL leauge is in July

Won 2 series against (one against a middle-class side and one against a mediocre side) and things get awry again ..... what is it that may heal this beemari in Pakistan Cricket ..... Maybe Pakistan cricket also gets funds for just creating such news ..... well atleast it would help understanding why PCB isn't bankrupt regardless of all what went on in last few years :D

^^ it says that board will wait for final report from Manager and Waqar before deciding. So really all that has been done is Afridi submitting his response. The bigger issue is the conflict between Waqar and Afridi during the tour.
