Players are our heroes not like corrupt politicians they demand some respect no one should make joke on their personal lives

two things
1) They are public figures and should be able to take jokes. It can not be all sweet always. If you want fame, these things are pack and parcel of it
2) Yes they are hero but they not playing voluntarily. They get paid hefty amount to play cricket. They are all PROFESSIONALS. If you say same thing about Edhi, I'd understand.
Are these players bigger than Miandad? Wasim? Waqar? Imran? all the names I mentioned not only used to take jokes but also enjoy it.

all i remember a bunch of clowns who did not even come close to defending 340 and were hammered all over the ground by someone who was subsequently put into place by second-rate bowlers throughout IPL.........

Players certainly need to loosen up BUT if someone were to invite you on stage and then poke fun at you while you're receiving an award - that is simply distasteful and boorish behavior! putting myself in their shoes, I'd find it offensive too
On the other hand, if the players were sitting in an audience and the occassion wasn't one where they were being commemorated, then any fun poked at them should be taken casually.
Again, it's not the jokes... it's the confluence of manner & juncture that wasn't appropriate.

They were not "Your Mama jokes"....... Players shld be able to take them.
Just knowing that Anwar Maqsood was host i m sure that everything was said with in the limits.

Totally agreed. If they were not pathetic in last few years, such jokes would not have come up. They should put their act together and stop losing with India.
