afridi = gilchrist

hey guys, i am new here..

dont get excited by the topic’s title!..but i do honestly believe that afridi has the ability and the potential to be like adam gilchrist, given the right coaching and if and when he establishes some discipline in his game. what do u guys think?

btw, there are some very educated cricket followers on this forum and i love reading all your comments..hope to add my 2 cents on the issues from now on..

well i think if working with best coaches like Mustaq Mohammad, Haroon Rashid, Javed Miandad, Geof Boycott, Intikhab Alam..Richard Pybus for about 6 yrs should be sufficient enough time to get the best out of anybody...In His case it did not get any thing out of him , except one good innings at Chenni...I would say forget about him and move on...

:smack: not another topic on Afridi. Forget about Afridi as long as Amir Sohail is the chief selector.

i think there is a greater insentive for afridi to really get something out of the coaches..all this time his job was never really threatened..now either he learns or he is history..

we can definetly use someone to score a quick 40-45 in the first 10-12 overs..and he is the man to do this..australia is so dominant because of the quick starts they get..

Technique Technique!!!! is the word we are talking about here....Australian Opners give them fast start...but at the same time both Hayden and Gilchrist have a technique that nobody can question ever...Hyden batted with great patient last yr against pakistan in the heat of sharjah...that tells about his technique...Gilchrist has gotten good runs in test cricket...None of Australian opners (Even in last decade eg: Mark Waugh, Mark Taylor, David Boon )have had any technical problem and thats why they have always been successful.Does afridi have good technique for playing outside Pak or sharjah?

Afridi is History man, i dont even wanna talk about him any more.

he is just jelous of him… os ne amir sohail ki jagah jo lai li thi

Afridi should have been dropped from the team back in 1999. He has no technique and no temprament to be a good batsman. Glamour days are over in Cricket, one needs to perform to be in the national team.

Oh please…not again…:smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack: :smack:

We’v had enough Afridi threads…and about his coaching. Miandad has lost hair explaining stuff to him, Boycott ka galla beth geya, samjha samjha ke…but Afridi prefers to remain an Afridi.

People Afridi is no Jayasuriya, no Gilchrist.

End of the story

Afridi doesn’t hve 2 be Gilchrist or Sanath Jayasuriya bcoz he will prove 1 day that he can be him self n play a gud ining.
gve him a chance n watch…cricket is so boring widout him…especailly the first few overs!

How many more chances does he want…HOW MANY MORE…
:mad2: :mad2:
The guys played 176 one days, worked under the best coaches in the world and if he still cant understand the basics than he does not deserve to play the game.

This damm topic pisses me off…

First few overs…ur willing to risk an opening position, and hand to someone who cannot stay there for more than 10 balls…just cause u want so see few exciting over…

This is the height of stupidity…

nisa,,, are u one of those desi female fans of afridi, who get borred by cricket 'specially in the first few overs' if afridi is not playing? :D

jeez...

You should change that to First Few Balls .

Great idea . So let him get coaching from Rod marsh or Ian healy or some other keaper. He will become a good w/c one day. :hehe:
