i hope sahabzada mohammed shahid khan afridi is dropped from both forms of the game (odi and test) in the future so he can learn his lesson, he needs to work on his game and make changes to it if he wants to make it big, he plays like a club cricketer slogging every ball that comes in his way, even i can do that, infact anybody could try their luck like him and make a few runs or zilch which is his latest speciality.
to tell you the truth i believe he is living on past success, his world record 100 in 37 balls in 1996 has given him so much fame that since that knock he has lived on that innings has he of late produced any good decent knocks (i mean decent not 10's 20's 25's) I DON'T THInK SO
If he can get his act togeather and plays responsibly and becomes a good batsman than there is a possibility, one of the main reason he gets picked again and again in the Pakistani side is because of his fielding, he has done some amazing work in the field for the past year, he needs to improve as a batsman first.
His attitude is always great, and if he can get his on field performance and his mental performance on track than he can one day become the captain.
Well Said. I definetly agree! :k:

Yo comon we should give it a try.....let's make a team of all youngsters like shoaib malik...imran nazir n all n make Afridi the captain let's see what happens then...seniors ne konsa teer maarliya....i don't think Wasim should be made the captain aaj nahi to saal ek mein to retire ho hi jaayega phir koi aur dhundenge....

Good point. I think we shudn't make him the captain just yet. Maybe vice-captain first IF they really wanna see how he does as captain. Maybe with some responsibility on his shoulders will make him play more responsibily. Anyway, I don't think he even has a chance of being in the team if Wasim stays. I think Wasim should retire and go away in style, before he gets booted off the team and gets hated by everyone for his captaincy decisions like Waqar.
That is the answer.... I was thinking who could lead the paskitan team...and the first thing that is required of the captain is that he selects himself.... and I think Shahid Afridi is the only one in the present team

Come rain or shine, whether he makes zero or one, whether he gets out first ball or third ball, he for some reason is guaranteed a place in the Pakistani team.

Not only that he positions himself the best againt better oppositions....

Afridi as captain, oh please the guy should never be in the team, let alone captain. He is an average bowler and a third rate batsmen who only excels against the likes of Holland, Namibia, Canada, etc. Put him in front of a decent team and he is in the pavilion in no time.

Oh Ehsan i do not see why you fail to see Shaid's brilliant strategy
what better place to command your troops but from higher ground? who knows may be that is what he is already doing that ... going back as soon as possible to assist the captian...working out the game plan to approach the run chase with the coach and captian. After all we do depend on Afridi every time we have to chase a big total.
Those who think Shahid Afridi be given more chances should have a look at his performance in the previous world cup.
In 1999 World Cup Shahid Afridi scored 11 runs against West Indies, 7 runs against Scotland, didn't play against Australia, 17 against New Zealand, 2 against Bangladesh.
In super six stage he didn't play against South Africa, scored 6 runs against India, 37 against Zimbabwe. He was not required to bat against New Zealand in the Semi Final and scored 13 runs in the final against Australia.
IMRAN KHAN, JAVED MIANDAD AND WASIM AKRAM are the three best captains we have had.
Moin Khan should be our next captain.
